    3. Hi Phil, The rosters for all of the companies in the 140th Regiment, PA Volunteer Infantry, were published in two articles that I wrote for the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society Quarterly a few years ago. The portion you are looking for, Company F, was published in Volume 22, Number 1 in Summer 1995. This article covered the rosters from the following: Company A - Greene County Company B - Mercer County Company F - Beaver County Company H - Beaver County Company I - Beaver County The Washington County companies, C, D, E, G and K were published in Volume 22, Number 3 in Winter, 1996. These rosters list the men of the 140th exactly as they appear on the PA monument at Gettysburg. The 140th was part of General Zook's brigade and fought in the Wheat Field, Peach Orchard, and at "The Loop". The 140th is an especially distinctive unit. It was formed in western PA from July to September 1862 and suffered more casualties than almost any other unit in the war. It ranks fourth on the list of regiments in the Union Army as far as losses. The unit's losses at Gettysburg were 241 out of 589 men or almost 41%. At Gettysburg, there are two monuments to the 140th...both are at "The Loop". There are two good books on the 140th. One is the "History of the One Hundred and Fortieth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers" by Professor Robert Laird Stewart, published by the Regimental Association in 1912. The Second, which is now available in print, (1991) is "Inscription At Gettysburg" by Sara Gould Walters which is published by Thomas Publications. In particular the roster that would include Col. Robert's unit at the Gettysburg. It is my belief that these brothers were in Col. Robert's regiment. They fought at Gettysburg, one brother John Sutherland Bell was killed and the other George Allison Bell was captured, interned at a POW camp until the end of the war and died in Feb 1866. Both served in Pennsylvania Infantry regiments (and both are on the Pennsylvania Monument at Gettysburg). Does anyone have access to those rosters and be willing to look for that information for me? OR Would someone direct me to where I could find this information? Thank you.
