Hi! I'm new to the list, and only a little experienced at genealogy - my father so far has been doing most of the work, and has found lots of information on his mother's side of our family. However, we have come to a dead end with my grandfather's father... he seems to be a real mystery - we can't seem to find anything about his family before him, and after he left my grandfather's mother, we don't know what happened to him... I live in a small village in Ohio, and don't have the opportunity to travel to do any research, I was certainly happy to find this list! If anyone has any information on the people I've listed at the end of this list, or have any ideas how I can further try to trace them myself, please contact me... I am interested in any information, such as birth records, death records, land holdings, wills, marriage records, or any mentions at all... any information will be greatly appreciated...thanks! (In the case of any records that need copied, I will pay for the cost plus mailing...) Person(s) I'm searching for: DAVIDSON or DAVISON, JAMES Born in PA February 1863 married to Mary Eliza (Lyde) Shomo in Johnstown PA in 1889 James' parents we think are: DAVIDSON or DAVISON, GEORGE born in PA and Nancy (no maiden name for Nancy) James' son, my grandfather: DAVIDSON, JOSEPH SANFORD Born in Blacklick, Beaver County, PA Dec 18, 1891 (Although my grandfather spelled his name DAVIDSON, we have found references where it was written DAVISON, and are not sure if perhaps when his father James left the family his mother Mary may have changed the spelling... we have copies of the divorce papers for James and Mary, and know Mary and her son and daughter moved to Salineville OH after they were separated. Before the move however, when they all lived in PA, we have no records or ideas of where they lived, what they did, etc. We don't know if James stayed in PA or moved somewhere else.
