I am new to this list and am researching the following families Morrow, Moore, Campbell, Mitchell in Westmoreland, Washington and Beaver Counties. I have been told they were connected to the following Presb. churches Slippery Rock (Elwood City?), Pigeon Creek (Washington Co, ) and Bethel Township (North Beaver Twp). They were located in Washington Co, unitl about 1795, then Morvia, Lawrence Co until around 1800 and then North Beaver Twp, had some connections with Hopewell, Shenango and Wayne Twps also. William Morrow the father was from Westmoreland Co, and he served in the Rev. War in the Invalid Corp and died while in service. He was granted Bounty Land in Beaver Co that his wife and children received. I have written National Archives but they have no papers so the land may possibly be PA state land. How does one get copies of their files? John served as a drummer boy in the Rev War at the age of seven from DAR papers) Charles and Rebecca Moore Morrow had the following children: Rebecca married James Campbell Jess b 1780 d 1852 Wayne Twp, Law Co, PA m Mary Van Eman Adam b circa 1798 m Catherine Van Eman James d 1868 m Mary Moore John m Elizabeth Moore Nellie b 1793 d 1878 marrie Judge Cairns Margaret m Samuel Crawford Rebecca Morrow and James Campbell had the following children: William John b 14 Feb 1827 d 1 Jan 1921 Princeton, KS m 1st Belinda Moore 2nd Mary Smith Mitchell Henry Robert Adam James Ellen Rebecca m J.J. Liebendorfer (New Castle, PA ) Margaret b 1843 in Big Beaver Twp. m Frances W McKim John was first married to Belinda Moore in Feb 1849 and she died Feb 1850 he then married in 1851 Mary Smith Mitchell daughter of Matthew and Nancy Smith Mitchell of Beaver twp Pa. An interesting note is John and Mary's first child was named Mary Belinda after his two wives (did they know one another or were friends) John and Mary and the Mitchell's moved to Mahaska Co, IA about 1856. I am attempting to document this family for DAR and need to find out where I can get the church records, birth and death and marriages for these families in the PA area. I would also like to find out the parent's of John and Rebecca Moore. Why was John in the War at such a young age? Also need parent;s for James Campbell (there is a possiblity that it was the William living next door to him in the 1840 census). I am running into block walls with these families an cannot come to the area to research. Thanks for any and all help. Glynice in CA
