Lynn: Did you get an answer on your Beaver Co question? The Beaver Co Research Center (which also houses the genealogy society) has loads of wonderful information. Also, good sources for locating ancestors -- tax records - the census man may have missed your ancestor, but you can be the tax man didn't. Beaver Co Research center has early tax records. Another source is voter registration. Orphans Court Records. Land records are good -- land was cheap and plentiful in the early days, so most everyone owned land -- which means they would have a deed. The grantor deeds usually list the wifes name also (sometimes the maiden name) and the signatures down in the lefthand corner of witnesses - are usually family members - first one the mans relative and second wives side. The Family History Centers have microflm ed most of the early records of a county - including deed indexes, as well as the deeds themselves. Often wills are microfilmed. Or are available from the county court house. These are just a few of the ideas to consider in your research for your ancestors ---- yes it does become an "obsession" --- and GREAT FUN!!. Any questions I can answer - fire away. Dorothy
