I have the regimental history for the 17th PA and I found your ggrandfather's name in it. My husband and I belong to a civil war group N-SSA, and we are part of the team that portrays the 17th PA Vol Cav. I have a lot of the basic information on them, including the history and a few papers I got from Carlisle and a few articles from newspapers from the times. What I am really interested in is their family life and what happened to them before and after the war. I talked to a relative of Arthur White's who remembered him. I want to put all the little family items into a pamphlet for the other "members" of the 17th PA Vol Cav. We meet in VA once a month during the summer and participate in shooting events with other units of the civil war. This means wearing the uniform and using the weapons of the time period. It is a lot of fun. Some of the other units (from Michigan to Georgia) have interesting items about their units and that's what I am looking for in the 17th. Any help in this would be appreciated.
