Thank you I am interested in any information about this area and it's people. Georgetown is supposed to be the second oldest town in Beaver Co. Many riverboat captains, owners and builders lived in Georgetown. The villege supplied workers for many of the boats that plied the Ohio River and further downsteam. I would like to collect information on those families who lived in Georgetown, Smithsferry, Glassgow, Shippingport, etc. Of special interest to me is the time of the Civil War. Were these boats used by the Union for war efforts? Carol/Pa
