    2. Found some info on Georgetown in "A Guidebook to Historic Western Pennsylvania" Beaver County p. 73 Georgetown - a very old river town. Georgetown Blockhouse (weatherboard log) was built in 1796 by Benoni Dawson and until 1900 had 2 stories. John Bever, an immigrant from Ireland who built the first papermill in Ohio, purchased and enlarged this house about 1800 and had a tavern and store there. George Henry Loskiel, an early Moravian traveler, visited there in 1803. On Water Street, overlooking Ohio River, near Old River Hotel. Also listed are the Old River Hotel with mention of Thomas Foster and Samuel Lyon, the Poe House with mention of Thomas Poe, a raftsman and st. Luke's Protestant Episcopal Church, founded in 1800. Glasgow is mentioned in connection with the Sandy and Beaver Canal Lock No. 54. If you want any further information, just contact me at cvsmith1@aol.com.
