Your postings about boatmen and boat builders has prompted me to ask if anyone is researching a Civil War veteran, Isaiah Murray. He was 41 years of age when he enlisted and was employed prior to enlistment as a boatman (riverboat pilot). I also found a Josiah Murray on the 1850 census listed as a boatman, who could possibly be a brother. Isaiah Murray is buried in a Rochester, PA cemetery. He was married to Sarah S.
