The following is a partial extraction from the biographical sketch about Samuel Curtis on page 637 of Warner's 1888 History of Beaver County. My main interest is in the McCurdy line. Any help with that line would be greatly appreciated. Samuel Curtis, P.O. Beaver, member of the firm of Curtis and Bliss, editors and publishers of the Rochester Daily Argus and Radical. He was born 21 Dec. 1834 Sherburne, Chenango Co., NY to John and Elsie (Jones) Curtis. Samuel Curtis married 1 March 1865 Isidore, daughter of Capt. Richard and Elizabeth (McCurdy) Calhoun [Calhoon]. Five children born to Samuel and Isidore (Calhoun) Curtis, the three now (1888) living: John Richard, Dora E., and Elizabeth M. Phil Holm
