This is my first posting to the Beaver County list. Most of my family lived in Somerset County since the late 1700s but I've hit a brick wall on one of my branches and since one of the children of this branch lived in Beaver County in 1949, I thought I'd try my luck. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Here's my brick wall - THOMAS WILLIAM HARTZELL January 6, 1871 - December 19, 1949 Thomas was the next to the youngest child of Melchi and Anne JOHNSTON HARTZELL. They had 15 children of which 12 survived childhood. Of the four remaining sons, Thomas was the only one that had children that the family knows of and this is the branch I'm having trouble finding. According to Thomas's obituary, he was living in Lemont Furnance, Fayette County at the home of his daughter, Stella, when he died. His children were listed as: Stella HARTZELL COLE of Lemont Furnance Myrtle HARTZELL HART of Lemont Furnance Anna HARTZELL MORROW of Pittsburgh Margaret HARTZELL DUMBAUGH of Aliquippa Bessie HARTZELL BELL of Brookvale James HARTZELL of Colonial No. 4 Charles HARTZELL of Evans Manor Maxwell HARTZELL of Dawson Oran HARTZELL of Maxwell When Anne JOHNSTON HARTZELL died in 1924, at the age of 98, there were eight of her children living and their descendents totaled just over 300. So far, I've found over 900 but Uncle Tom's family is a sticking point. THANKS!!!
