    3. Here is my line, we may have a connection. Henry INMAN, b. 25-9-1758 in Frederick Co. MD, d. 27-5-1845, m. Esther POWERS, b. 30-9-1767 NJ, d. 30-12-1830 There is a short story of Henry Inman, "said to be Rev. War spy - Natl Archive File #S5601"...He came from Maryland to Westmoreland County. ...he and Abram Powers and Abram's five sons and John Leland (who married a Powers - maybe sister or daughter of Abram) and their families embarked on a flatboat on the Monongahela River near Red Stone, intending to migrate to Kentucky. They went as far down on the Ohio as the mouth of the Beaver River where they spent the winter of 1793-4 on an island in small cabins. They had intended to journey on in the spring, but liking the countryside, decided to stay. This family settled in the vicinity of Fort McIntosh - what is now the town of Darlington. In 1793 they moved into what is now ChippewaTownship, Beaver County in 1800. Henry owned acerage in wht is now Brady's Run Park. He was a founding father of the Chippewa Methodist Church in Chippewa Township, Beaver County, PA. This church celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1996. Henr! y and Esther are buried in the Old Stone Church Methodist Cemetery. [ Their children all born in Chippewa Twp: Bazaleel Lee, b. 13-1-1767 in Westmoreland Co., PA; John Powers, b. 08-04-1788; Rachel Lee Inman b. 30 06-1791, Eleanor b. 08-02-1794; Jacob b. 22-04-1796; Phoebe, b. 20-03-1799; Abraham Powers, b. 13-05-1802; Azariah, b. 20-12-1804 (my g-grandfather) ; Lavina, b. 25-03-1806 Son, Azariah INMAN, b 20-12-1804 in Chippewa Twp., Beaver PA m. Marcha Ann HARBISON, b. 13-1-1830. They had children: Elizbeth J., Henry, Matthew H., John, Mary Ann, Azariah, James, Esther. Esther INMAN, b. 14-2-1846 in Beaver Co., PA married my grandfather William Porter Edwards b.14-3-1846 in PA They had children: Kirby M. (m. T. Schieckman), Elizabeth Gertrude (m. Cooley), William Joseph (m. Sadie H. Schiellien), Clemens Porter - (later changed to Porter Clement, m. Dora Garahan - my parents), and Garfield. Never found Garfield. For INMANs in your family go to the Inman Compendium Tenealogical Database. It's a wonderful site, the best I've ever seen, where you can find all the above Inman - Powers details in addition to more on of the above. William Porter Edwards on his 19th birthday, enlisted in the Civil War. I suspect he was tired of farming and carpentry work and wanted some excitement. His later pension application records were a source of many details. In 1902 William Porter Edwards moved his family from Beaver Falls to Pittsburgh where he became a home contractor, built the family home on Belasco Ave in Beechview borough. His daughter Gertrude Cooley later lived there with her family, and after they moved, my sister & family lived in that house as well. It is still occupied, I found picture of it on a Pittsburgh site. I know that at least one of the Inmans (Henry) married a Powers. Which Inman are you related to? Marianne in CA ==== PABEAVER Mailing List ==== ** Tired of this LIST?
