Hello, I am new to the list and researching the following surnames: GREEN, SHANNON, REED, GILKEY, COWFER I would like to make a connection to Ireland, but all claim they were born in Pennsylvania back to 1850 census. A couple of exceptions are: Issac GREEN b.1804 in Cedar Creek, Sussex Co., Delaware, and his son Jacob GREEN b.1844 in Virginia I would like to contact anyone doing similar searching. Kathryn in Colorado
I have Sarah Shannon, b. 1840 near Harrisburg PA. Her father was John Shannon, b. 1790 in New Jersey. Her mother was Margaret Jane McGee, b. 1803 in PA. For some reason, they were married in Crawford Co, OH. They were back in Crawford Co., at the time of their deaths and are buried in Bucyrus, OH. That's all I know about my Shannons except that Sarah married Joseph Farrington and died in Morrow Co. OH. Any chance of a connection to your Shannons? My Beaver Co. surnames are Curl, Cottam, and Marquis.
