Shaffer (b. abt 1820, d. 1864) and William W. Shaffer (b. 1825, d. 1902). Our research shows William was born in Beaver County, PA. Both moved to Ohio in the mid-1800's and raised families there. Alexander died due to illness during his service in the Civil War and is buried in Stones River National Cemetery in Pulaski, TN. So, far our search of records for Beaver County has only turned up a possible census match in George Shaffer, who was born abt. 1800 and at the 1830 census had a wife two boys and two girls. The boy's ages correspond with Alex. and William at 1830 (under 10 and under 5, respectively). Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
