Janis, In the 1860 census record for Issac Green, the eldest female is Elizabeth, age 37. She is old enough to be the wife of Issac and mother of the boys, Issac J., Alfred, Jacob, but much too old to be Sarah Elizabeth Potts. I am descended from Jacob and would like to be able to trace Elizabeth's family name. Cathy, I have David Cain who married Nancy Potts in Beaver Co., PA. I also have Cains that intermarried with Tanners in WV (early 1800's). I have also noticed Cains buried in Meigs Co., OH but I don't have a connection to them. Do you have the parents of David Cain who married Nancy Potts? I am researching the Steven's family. The earliest was William Steven's born in Mass. He was a Methodist Episcopal minister. Died in 1858. His wife's name was Sarah. She was born in Delaware. I believed they married in Ohio.
Brian, I do have some possibilities of connections in MD. I don't, however, have that all important allusive proof. I am researching the connection between the Bechtel and Beegle families and believe they may be one and the same. Modena, Thanks for the info on Isaac. I have a question, tho. I am descended from the Beegle side and have Charity Jane Beegle's birth date as 22 Jan. 1827. Isaac Green was born approx. 1804.
