Looking to connect with anyone having connections to this family, which comes from the 1800 will of John Taylor, in Allegheny Co, PA. The real estate described in that will was in So Beaver Twp, Beaver Co, PA. John TAYLOR and Jean/Jane (Maiden Unknown) b approx 1740-50, John died 1800, Jean/Jane died before 1820. Thomas TAYLOR b 1773 / Agnes Nancy McCLELLAND John TAYLOR, m Elizabeth Elizabeth TAYLOR / William LATTA John Taylor LATTA Jennet TAYLOR / Patrick McCAY Mary TAYLOR / xxxxx ROBISON I am a descendant of Thomas Taylor, who migrated from Beaver Co, PA to Richland Co, OH in about 1826. Patrick and Jennet (Taylor) McCay last seen in 1800 census in Beaver Co, PA. There is a deed filed in Westmoreland County re Beaver County property in 1825 that shows Jennet/Jane married a second time and had at least one child by a man named Little. There were Latta's all over Westmoreland Co, but we have not been able to definitively place the above son-in-law William Latta in any of those families. We have located the McClelland heritage for Nancy Agnes and have quite a bit on them. Tied in with several intermarriages with Willsons and McConnells in that line. Long time Westmoreland Co families. Son John Taylor, above, sold the land he inherited from his father in 1812. The deed showed him then living in: Pymatuning Twp, Mercer Co PA. Hi: Would be interested in connecting with anyone re this couple. Jane is a daughter of Thomas Taylor, who was in the So Beaver Twp census in 1800, 1810, and 1820. She would have been born 1790-1820. There is a Thomas and Jane (Taylor) Strong entered in DAR records, and the Jane shown there as the daughter of another Thomas Taylor (I think from Chester Co), Revolutionary War veteran. Either they've "stolen" our Thomas and Jane (Taylor) Strong, or there was another "set" of these three names existant in western PA about the same time. Thanks for your support. Looking to connect with anyone having connections to this family, who appears in the 1850 and 1860 census of So Beaver Twp, Beaver Co, PA, then seem to "disappear". Looking to confirm or refute that wife Mary is Mary (Taylor) Tennis and the couple are the same Oliver and Mary Tennis mentioned in the will of Sam Taylor, Richland Co, OH, who died in 1849. (She as a sister of Sam) Oliver Tennis b 1824 Mary b 1825/6 Robert b 1846 Martha b 1849 Margan (?) M. b 1851 Samuel b 1854 Elizabeth b 1857 I am a Taylor researcher and a descendant of James Taylor, who I believe to be a brother of Mary (Taylor) Tennis, above, and to the Sam Taylor who died in Richland Co, OH in 1849. There are several Tennis families in Beaver Co all through the 19th century, probably all related. One of those, a Samuel Tennis, was a neighbor to Thomas Taylor in the 1810 census. The Thomas Taylor family was in Beaver Co 1800-1825, when they moved to Richland Co, OH. Thanks for your support. from a newspaper abstract, this is a list of people who contracted cholera. read the paper at: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/beaver/newspapers/westarg02.txt there's marriages, death notices, and more! great stuff! August 15, 1834 Cholera Since our last paper was issued, several cases of cholera have occurred in this county, most of which have proved fatal. On Thursday night of last week, RICHARD BAXTER, a young man residing at Fallston, was attacked, and died the next morning. On Friday, JOHN COLLIER, a young man of the same place, fell victim to the destructive disease, after a few hours illness. On Wednesday, a man named JAMES COURTRIGHT, residing a mile north of the borough, was attacked and died the evening following. We learn that JEREMIAH SAUNDERS, a young man residing at Fallston, was attacked at Zelienople, (Butler county) on Tuesday last, and died in a short time. We have been furnished with the following list, which we believe comprises all the cases that have occurred in this county, since the first appearance of the disease among us. Susy Beal, The 'upper part of Monaca' would be nowhere near Robinson Township. Before Beaver County was formed in 1800 it would have been near the north-western part of Moon Township and Robinson Township is on the south-eastern edge of Moon Township. At the time of the Civil War there would have been Moon and Hopewell between Robinson and Monaca. Mac Mac

>Can anyone provide directions to the cemetery? I noticed a few of my "folks" >on the list and just happen to be planning a trip to PA in the near future. i got to it this way: heading west on Route 22 from Pittsburgh, i got off at the Florence exit, and went north on Route 18. Just after you cross over the line between Washington County and Beaver County, about 3-4 miles, the road forks, and Route 18 goes right and Route 168 goes left. follow route 168. The second road on your left will be Johan Road, it is a dirt/packed gravel road, and there is a sign marking the cemetery, but you have to be looking for it. go a short way down this road, then turn right onto another dirt road. a little ways down, there's a spot to park your car, and then you walk up into the woods, and there's the cemetery. it was not maintained for some time, and many of the stones have fallen. i couldn't find the ones i wanted to, even though they are on this cemetery listing. i mean, it's *IN* the woods, and i was there in springtime, before everything began to grow, so i can't vouch for how accessible it will be in the summertime, i'm not sure how well it is maintained. JoAnn.
That is a very good story...thank you so much for sharing it with us. I do have a question...the farm that belonged to Archie Robinson...is there any more info on him? He sounds like my GG Grand father who had a farm is that area about the same time.....I think that it is now called Robinson Twp. up next to Moon Twp. if there are any other stories or memories please let me know ! Thanks a bunch.
