I don't know if anyone helped her yet. I have a book: 19th Century Marriage Registrations Beaver County, Pennsylvania Compiled by Publishers of Beaver County Records Helen G. Clear, Sladys G. Schmidt, Mae H. Winne. Library of Congress Catalogue Card Number 82-90024 It is an index that covers 30 marriages that were recorded Oct. 1852 - Sept. 1854 and 6,235 marriages from Oct. 1885 through Dec. 1900 that were recorded in the Marriage License Dockets at Beaver County, PA. The index identifies the record number, the date, and the name of the couple. If a record is in the index it would be a good idea to obtain the Marriage Record to see what additional information that it contains. It may provide birthdates or ages, place of birth, names of parents, and information about previous marriages. I did a quick look and did not find Hattie Jones Bowser. If Cheryl could clarify what her aunt's maiden name was and her husband's name I will check again. Notice that the records start in Oct. of 1885. If they were married earlier in 1885 there won't be a record for them. If other Beaver County Researchers need some look ups please contact me directly at gtafini@tir.com and identify the full names of the couple that you are looking for and their approximate marriage date if you know it. I will probably get many requests so it will take me a while to respond. I will post a summary of the successful searches to the PABEAVER list unless you request otherwise. Regards, Gary R. 1. [PABEAVER-L] FRANK.HUMMEL: HUMMEL FAMILY HISTORY
    2. HELLO ! I have just joined the list. I have been researching the HUMMEL family line for over 20 years. (part time, that is). I am not on the Internet at this time. I only have this E-Mail. My HUMMEL line came from ENINGEN UNTER ACHALM, BADEN-WURTTEMBERG To AMERICA on the ship MARGARET, arriving on the 19th day of September 1804. There were two brothers, CASPER and DAVID HUMMEL, who married sisters in ENINGEN. Magdelena Wanger and Margaretha Wanger. I have traced Casper forward but now I wish to trace Casper's brother David. David and his wife had five children. Other lines that I am tracing are EASTBURN, HARTRAMFF, PEACOCK, SILPATH, SNELLBAKER AND MOORE of Philadelphia. Do you have any relatives from ENINGEN ? With the best of regards Frank --------- End forwarded message ---------- ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. 3. Hi Mary, I'd try writing to Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh and asking them to check the newspapers for an obituary. The two biggest would be the "Pittsburgh Press" and the "Pittsburgh Gazette Times" for May 15, 16, and 17, 1904. This may give the information you need to narrow down other facts such as which funeral home she was buried from and exactly where she died. From there you may be able to check a county death record. Good luck, Denny Ardinger ---------- From: Mary Couch <Couch@netusa1.net> To: PABEAVER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PABEAVER-L] Death record help needed. Date: Monday, September 28, 1998 2:11 AM Would someone please tell me where I can write for a death record and how much the fees are. My GGrandmother Sophia Miller was buried May 14, 1904 in St. Michaels cemetery in Pittsburgh next to her husband Peter. There is no death record in Allegheny county or the Catholic church she attended. She died May 11, 1904. I now believe she died in another county and then taken to St. Michaels for burial. I thought checking the counties surrounding Allegheny would be a good starting point. Thanking you in advance. 2. Sharon Crowley
    3. For those of you who are far more experienced that I am and that is probably most of you.....suggestions please.....How do I prove that someone belongs to the family I am looking for... My problem..... The Diocese of Pittsburgh on a search sent me the following baptisms of the family name OConnor....now this Machael O'Connor was married to a Elizabeth O'Keane....the OKeane name is one I am researching...however they cannot prove that Elizabeth is one of my family...I'm not even sure..I would have passed this info by except that one baptism of a son Roger Patrick br 9 Aug 1885 and baptized on 15 Sept 1885 has as sponsors a Richard Welsh and a Mary Ann OKeane....[this is the name of my GGranny and Richard Welsh is the father of the man that married my GGrannys future husband John Henry Joyce/Joice....sister Catherine Mildred Joice/Joyce....] This was all done at St Cecilia's RC Church in Rochester Pa....the O'Keanes family church....and this particular Joyce family..and Welsh family Where can I go to find out how and if she is related....or is this a dead end for me? Something tells me she is but I have no idea how to go about proving it....I can't connect to anyone on line re this family or off line either...Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of a death certificate on her but I have no idea when she died and not sure where to go to have that done...Beaver or New Castle Thanks Sharon Tx

    1. [PABEAVER-L] Interesting Source of Info
    2. Recently, while clearing out my mother-in-laws home (she moved to an assisted living facility - age 90), I ran across an old insurance policy that was taken out by her 2nd husband in 1922 at age 18. It was paid up in 1942. The policy has the application also which includes an immense amount of information, such as: birthdate, parents names, beneficiary names (first, his mother, then his first wife) parents names and ages of both the young man's father and mother with medical information about what they died from, if not still living, brothers and sisters if any, places of birth and death, how long sick and previous health status. I don't remember seeing notices on the lists I've belonged to about this source of information. It was signed by a doctor, also. My only regret is that it is not for my mother-in-law's first husband.
