    1. [PABEAVER-L] Sager & Showalter families
    2. Linda & John
    3. Hello List The recent rollcall made me think I should get my interests out there as well. I am interested in confirming that my ancestors brother actually did move to Beaver Co Pa as I've seen written in several historical references. I am looking for any mentions of Samuel SAGER , born 1778, died about 1859 ?Beaver Co & wife Susanna SHOWALTER SAGER; in Beaver Co after 1816. They previous to that lived in Trumbull Co Ohio where father Gabriel & brother William lived. Samuel left after father Gabriel's death. Samuel & Susanna had 3 children I know of: Margaret m John CHAPMAN; Elizabeth; & Sarah. I can only assume he left to join other relatives in Beaver Co. It seems strange that he would go east when the general progression was to go west & other members of this family did just that. Anyone else researching SAGERs in this county or have any thoughts on that move to Beaver Co? This family had previously lived in Bucks Co Pa & in Shenandoah Co Va Linda Phoenix AZ PS Just reading through todays posts & see a couple SHOWALTER references so that looks promising.

    3. Diane - My gr-grandmother, born in Bridgewater, Beaver Co., PA on 12 December 1848 was named Deborah Anne Conolly. She moved to Michigan where she was married to Francis E. Robertson 5 September 1869. Information which I have found over time is as follows: The 1900 US Census states that Deborah Anne had eight children, six living. Only four names of children are listed as living with the parents. There is a large gap in years between Maud and Maggie, from 1871 to 1884. Possibly the two living children not living at home were born during this time frame. Also, possibly the two deceased children were born during these years. --------- Begin forwarded message ---------- e-mail message From: "Yvonne Sablich" <sablich@cpros.com> Subject: Ancestors!!!!! Conolly There are other Conley, Conely, Connely, Conly s on the page. My Grandmother was born in Paw Paw, and I looked up Hartford and it is right next door. I will look at my Berrien County Records and see what I can find. - ---------------------------- Do you think this is any connection to your CONOLY surname? Did any of your CONLEY's move to Michigan? 3. Hi Joyce, Have we talked before?? I am not sure if I wrote you and told you one of my Samuel Wilson's children was named James McClure Wilson, he was born abt 1850 probably in Beaver Co where Sam was born, and was still living in Beaver Falls in 1885 when his father died in Allen Co. OH. I got the feeling from a reel I was viewing of deeds of Beaver Co, that my Wilson family lived next door to a McClure family in South Beaver Twp. I am trying to find out who my Sam's parents were. A very distant and elderly women found his birthdate to be 20 Nov 1802 in Darlington, Beaver Co. He states in the 1880 OH census that his father was from Ireland and mother from MD. That is all I have to go on for him besides the names of his wife and children. 3. JoAnn, Not to start a war but when Allegheny County was formed in 1788 there were 7 townships to wit: Moon, St Clair, Mifflin, Elizabeth, Versailles Plum, and Pitt. Pitt township included Pittsburgh and out to Plum and contained everything west of the Allegheny and north of the Ohio. Pine and Deer weren't formed out of Pitt until 1796. See Warner's "History of Allegheny County" for a good time line of the various 131 communities being formed in Allegheny County. Mac

    3. Hi All, An add to my earlier post regarding PA counties: Jeff is quite right, the northern tip of Washington County was included in Beaver Co. The map I referred to probably shows the counties as of the beginning of the year and thus didn't show Beaver Co. as a separate county until the 1810 map, although it is listed as being formed in 1800. 2. Iral C. Nelson
    3. Hi All, The Historical and Museum Commission of PA has a very nice map showing the development of the counties from the beginning. I think it was only $3. It looks like about the lower third of Beaver County was in Cumberland Co. in about 1750, then in Westmoreland Co. in 1773. It further looks like all of Beaver County was in Allegheny Co. in 1788 - 1800. I have made inquiry as to townships in 1790 in Allegheny Co., but have not had a response as yet. Good hunting.
