    2. borts
    3. I have been working on the surname of Bortz for some time now. I have been in contact with a few of you. I wanted to let you know a couple of things, 1- that my computer decided I had to much in it and it deleted everything. The hard drive was unhurt. But of course I lost everything that I was working on but not backed up. So there went all of your e-mail addresses and the lines you were working on. Please resend your information because I am very interested. 2- I have received 3-4 family charts and family group sheets for different Bortz families. I am anxious to fit them all together. Animate please send me your e-mail address. Thanks Nora borts@gte.net

    1. [PABEAVER-L] STONE Family
    2. Hasson
    3. Hello to all, In Beaver Co., I am looking for a family, by the name of STONE, who lived in Vanport, PA. I know they were there in 1892 when my husband's grandmother, Evalyn M. Stone, was born. I also know her parents, a Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stone, were living there in 1940. Any knowledge of these people would be a great help! Debbie Hasson

    1. [PABEAVER-L] Col. John Irwin
    2. d larson
    3. Does anyone on the list know about a Col. John Irwin? He was listed as the executor on my ancestor's, Mathew Graham Sr., will proven 20th September 1787. I think I also saw his name as the commander of another ancestor's Rev. War company/etc. But, that was from Beaver County area. Although all of that area was one and the same it seems to me. I would be interested in a little history on him, and what his relationship might have been with my ancestor. Thanks, Deanna dlarson@swift-net.com

    1. [PABEAVER-L] Cemetery Pictures
    2. These are some notes that Helen Clear wrote under the pictures of the cemeterys. This is for private use only. Not to be posted. Grandview Cemetery is very aptly named. Visitors receive a "grand view" of the Beaver River Valley above Beaver Falls. North Sewickley Cemetery since 1830- This popular burying place in northern Beaver County is often refered to as "Upper Presbyterian". Four generations of the Druschel Family are buried in Burns-Unionville Cemeter, New Sewickley Twp. The land for the cemetery was given by Samuel Burns (1816-1899) and his wife Ruth (Shanor) Burns (1822-1910). Concord United Methodist Church and cemetery are in North Sewickley Township. Another Concord is Presbyterian and is located in Economy Borough. Ruth Nye is buried in Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Marion Township. A Baptist church stood here at one time. (I can actually read tombstone Nov 1818-9 - May 30 1897tlf) Beautiful St John's Protestant Evangelical Church, located alon Penna. Route 68 in New sewickley Township, is better know as "Burry's Church". Founded by persons of German origin, it has been serving local residents for more than 150 years. (tombstone in pict- CATHARINE ZAHN, GEB,FRISCHKORN, GEBOREN, 4 SEPT?r 1821, GESTORBEN, 11 NOV 1889, at very bottom it says, CHRIST?? 1ST MEIN LEBEN UNO STER??? MEIN GEW?I? -tlf) Lillyville Church of God in Franklin Township was once named Bethel Church. The beautiful stone on the right is in that cemetery. Stone says "THOSE WHO LEAVE US IN THE SPRINGTIME OF THEIR LIVES WILL GREET US AGAIN SOMEDAY IN A LAND WHERE SPRINGTIME IS ETERNAL" Many Beaver County residents attended church in nearby Zelienople (Butler co) and were buried in that borough's cemetery (tombstone reads: GOETTMAN, PETER GOETTMAN, 1825 -1913, ELIZABETH, HIS WIFE, 1829-1918 -tlf)
