With all the correspondence about MILLER connections, let me throw my 2cents worth in. I'm looking for a Robert MILLER who had a daughter by the name of Phoebe/Phebe MILLER (1829-1909) who married a John CAIN in 1855. Her mother's name may have been Elizabeth CALDWELL/CALLWELL. I'm not aware that this family came from or ever was in Butler Co. (more likely Allegheny or Beaver) but who knows. Ring a bell with anyone? Would love to connect with descendants. I am looking for the MILLER that married my Elizabeth NEYMAN. All I have is the mention in her father's will as to his daughter Elizabeth Miller. I have several possible dates for her birth, but nothing for sure at the moment. She is listed as a land owner on 1803 tax list but also a female under age 10 is on 1810 census??? She should have been born much earlier to be a land owner?? Hi Jack, I don't know what time frame you are into, but I haven't really done much with my husband's family genealogy. Lowell's grandfather was Clement Larid Dunlap and he was married to Alnora Barr. I do not know where they were born, but probably OHIO. We are in Huron Co., OH and they probably lived in this general area their whole live. I have not done anything further back. Hello, Is there anybody researching the EVANS surname in Beaver Co? I am looking for information a Sophia EVANS born sometime in the 1780's. Also looking for any EVANS & RENO marriages. Thank you, Kelly
Dear Jan, In responce to your query about St. Peter's Church--are you talking about a Catholic Church? I have a book, "The Birth and Growth of Catholicism in Beaver County" published in 1974. S.S. Peter and Paul was the first Catholic Church in Beaver County. FYI It was built in the 1830's on land donated by a non Catholic. Contributions were solicited for several years for the building of the Church and it is believed the construction may have finally begun in 1836 with the dedication in 1837. There were sporadic visits of priests from Pittsburgh from about 1825 to 1831 and before that anyone from the Catholic community of Beaver County had to go to St. Patrick's in Pittsburgh to be married or baptised. Actually this book is pretty informative about the close surrounding areas during the time period of the building of the church. It mentions many names although I did not see your Stephens/Stevens surname. The book also lists a small handful of marriages (5 from 1849-1852) baptisms (5 from 1847-1848). There are about 24 names of people buried in Daugherty's cemetery from 1847-1868 as well as information about the beginnings of the cemetery itself. If anyone is interested I will list surnames listed in this book and the names of places at the time that have changed. I have lived here most of my life and I just learned some interesting things from a quick look at this book that I have had on my shelf for many years. Judee

I am looking for info on Benjamin Stephens/Stevens and his wife, Mariah/Maria. He was born abt 1795 somewhere in PA and is listed as a resident of Beaver Co in 1843. He may also has been a founding member of the St. Peter's Church. Marriage date for him and his wife may have been 1820, place unknown, but probably PA. They had at least one son, Isaac, born 12/25/1821 in PA. I have been unable to find anything on these people- family may have originated in MD. Does St. Peter's Church still exist and would records be available? Thanks Jan Stephens

Hello everyone, I am starting to research my wife's ancestors and, in the case of her dad, I am at a loss as to where to start. Her Dad's name was Karl Frye. He was born in Beaver, Pa - 12 May 1892. I have sent away for his SS-5 but have not received it yet. That is all the info we have to date. I would like to obtain a copy of his Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, etc, plus some way of looking at the Census Records for the years surrounding his birth. We know he passed away in Florida - Sep 1958. Any help, guidance, suggestions would be most appreciated. I am presently working in Hawaii and do not have access to any official records. Thanks/Aloha/ED
