My gr-grandmother, Carrie May DILWORTH, was born in Darlington, Beaver County, on 2/27/1880. I know nothing else about her, i.e., parents', siblings' names. I've been told she was buried in her brother's grave (or next to it) in the Darlington Cemetery. She passed in 1964 in Michigan and was taken back to PA to be buried. She married Adam Spalding in 1897 and they had four children: Eugene Robert, Clem Adam, Lottie Margaret (my grandmother) and Elmer Charles. Anyone have any clues they could give me? I've been searching for over two years; she's my second-worst brick wall! Also, in scanning the archives, I came across a listing for DILWORTH Cemetery in Darlington Township. Anyone know where, precisely, that is located, and if it is strictly a family cemetery? I will be going back to PA sometime in the near future and I'd like to visit it if possible. Thanks in advance for any info sent my way. I am looking for a woman who was connected to Elihu Evans born 1890's, son of Eli Evans and Elizabeth McElhany. Her name was Martha and she was born about 1825 in PA. She was listed with two of her children on the 1860 census with Elihu Evans in New Brighton Township. Martha's married name was McGaughey or McGahey and I know she was still married at that time to James McGaughey. I believe this Elihu to have been married to Eliza Stone, daughter of Stephen Stone.

Taken from: Somebody's Links, Vol. 4, No. 29, 23 August 2002. Marybeth Corrigall =============== << o 1847 letter (MOORE to AGNEW); Item # 2132476190 Auction ends: Aug-25-02 06:53:17 PDT; Seller: smile4me This stampless cover has a bluish gray circular date stamp for Brownsville, Pennsylvania, a 5 cent rate, and is addressed to Daniel AGNEW, Esq, Beaver, Beaver co., Penna., and has an enclosure of a four [page?] letter written on folded paper, by H. C. MOORE. The headline is "On steamboat on the Monongahela Oct 13, 1847." The letter is written in light pencil. I [seller] had to make a photocopy or two in order to read most of it better. I [Seller] did a little Internet researching and found that this would be Henry C. MOORE, son of Robert MOORE of Beaver, Pennsylvania. AGNEW, a chief justice from Pennsylvania, married Elizabeth MOORE, H. C.'s sister. A Dr. WHIPPO is also mentioned in the letter, who would be the father of Amelia Ann who married H. C. MOORE and died in Connersville, Indiana in 1845. He seems to have been traveling around quite a bit and not knowing if he'd live, mainly due to some serious "stomach trouble" he'd been having. A big part of the letter explains to AGNEW what to do as an executor of H. C.'s estate, should something happen. Almost reads like a will. Some extracts: "I did not get off Beaver till the 'Michigan' yesterday morning & she did not reach Pitts till 5 o'clock last night." "I want you to see the north." "I want a memorial put on my Dear Amelia Ann's grave in Connersville, a good one." ". . . sell the mill . . ." Hello everyone... Would anyone happen to be researching the Barnes family who were living in Beaver County during the Civil War period? William Conner Barnes was born on May 18, 1841 to Levi & Elizabeth (Conner) Barnes and was a farmer in Beaver County at the time of his enlistment in 1861. I'm trying to gain information about Levi & Elizabeth. What I do know is that according to Bates' History of Erie County, PA, a Levi Barnes arrived in PA in 1821 from the interior of New York. I'm trying to determine if this Levi is William's father. Many thanks for any insight... Linda __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Thanks so much for taking time to research this. Sometimes we just need to get a different perspective and think out of the box. I had seen all these Miller's but I had never put two and two together. Yes, Henry Schlagel was Eliza's parents, so it is likely the family started out living close to their relatives and then moved to Beaver Falls. I'll have to look for Elizabeth's obituary or death certificate to confirm, but this is a great start! Thanks again!!! Fry made a very beautiful "Art" glass known as "Fry Foval". It is highly collectible today. Sort of a thin, milky color deepening around handles, etc., to a bright green or blue. I have two lovely cups and saucers, and my sister has the other two. There was a fat round tea-pot when I was little, but it broke, unfortunately. Very "Art Nouveau".
