I am wondering whether Kelly has any Miller family information earlier than he lists in his query. I have an Esther Havice listed in 1850 census living next door to her son Abraham Havice, Jr. and in 1860 she was listed living with his family. Didn't find her in 1870, so no doubt died. German Lutheran Church records across the county line in Butler Co PA list several children confirmed or baptized, and the church record gave the German names for the parents--Margaretta Esther Muller and Abraham Hebeisen (anglicized to Havice). Sorry, but don't know how to put the little deal over the "u"! Have lots on the Havice family, but nothing on Esther's family. Would appreciate any help. Marian
Is there anyone familiar with or may have access to records of Grace Methodist Church, 601 Eleventh Avenue, New Brighton, PA? The Minister there in 1941 was Rev. G. Meade Dougherty, 552 Tenth Avenue, New Brighton, PA. I am researching my grandfather's ancestry and I have been told that I was Baptized there. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help. Bob Reese, Santee, CA

Hi Everyone, Would any of you happen to have names/phone numbers of Lutheran churches in/near Rochester, Pa? I am looking for the older churches in particular, those established during or before roughly the 1830's - 1840s. If SKS could help me on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Cindy Kanny http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~orphanshome/

Does anyone have access to access to a resource for looking up marriages before 1845? I am looking for the marriage of James P. McGaughey b. abt. 1826 (McGahey) to a Martha unknown born abt. 1825. She may have been a daughter of Elihu Evans and Eliza Stone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dee
Dee: I don't know if this will help or not. In a book of announcements of Beaver County Marriages 1830-1873, I found a Mc GAHEY (New Brighton Twp.) and a Margaret FOSTER (Rochester Twp.) by Rev. J. Murray on 25 Jan 1855. Could be a son of James P. McGaughey? ----- Original Message ----- From: "SandKey" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 13, 2002 9:03 AM Subject: [PABEAVER-L] marriages prior to 1845 in Beaver area > Does anyone have access to access to a resource for looking up marriages > before 1845? Well, I've gotten some obits from sending them some exact dates, throught the mail, so that's been my experience! I'm hoping to get there next summer! Elizabeth: I am not so sure you are on the right track here. Clarion County is not Beaver County. There are many Beaver Townships in many counties. One thing that will give you some guidance is to bring up web page www.pagenweb.org and click on Clarion County. I did look in a couple of Beaver County books I have and found a Mary M. Barber (Penns Valley, Center County, PA) married a Dr. R. C. Weir (Phillipsburg - which is now known as Monaca, PA) on 16 Jul 1851 by Rev. Wm Hamil. Hope this helps. Dennis, Boy, is it your lucky day! I really don't have any FUNKHOUSER stuff because it's not a direct line of mine, more of a curiousity. But while browsing for another sideliner today, I found a Thelma F. FUNKHOUSER! NARA Film T626, Roll 1362 1910 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Lawrence County, Wampum Borough Enumeration District 154, Family (visit) # 172, Sheet 9A FUNKHOUSER, Frank C./age 34 wife Carrie M./age 34 daughter Ruth A./age 13 son Paul R./age 12 daughter Thelma F./age 7 son Kenneth J./age 3 All were born in Pennsylvania, and so were their parents, with one exception: Frank's mother was born in Illinois. Frank was a telegraph operator for a railroad, and owned his home free & clear. (So there ought to be a deed on file in Lawrence county for this property. The census taker didn't list the address, but it appears to be located on New Port Road.) Lastly, Frank and Carrie had been married 15 years as of this Census date. The date of enumeration is 22 Apr 1910. Hope this is your Thelma! -=SteveB ----- Original Message ----- From: "DENNIS HAHN" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 09, 2002 8:51 PM Subject: Re: [PABEAVER-L] Marriage FUNKHOUSER/KERR 1910-1914 Hi Steve, I don't have any specific info for you but want to check if there is something you can tell me. I am looking for information on Adam Barber's family. The 1880 census shows that he lived in Beaver Township, Clarion County, PA and that he was an oil producer. Specifically, I am hoping to find information about the birth of my grandmother, Bertha May Barber who was born September 28, 1885 - presumably in the same area. The family belonged to the Methodist Church. Any help would be much appreciated. Elizabeth
