EVERYONE PLEASE NOTE; I am sorry but a few days ago I announced on this list that I have a book that records Beaver Co. PA Marriage announcements (1830-1973)..That was a typo mistake and I apologize!! The dates should be 1830-1873 NOT 1973. Since then, I have received several requests for searches for dates later than 1873. I'm sorry, I cannot help with those. Hi! I am new to this list. I am trying to find the marriage location, and any information about the life of my gr aunt, Linda Jane PERRY, to Thomson Harris LYON, about 1900-1912. She was from Liverpool, England. They lived in Southampton, England in 1912, and Brooklyn, NY in 1920. They later moved to Rochester, PA, where his family lived. She died about 1940, he sometime later. They are said to be buried in Zelianople. I would be grateful for any information about them, and can exchange information with anyone else researching this family. Sincerely, Marny Janson New Paltz, NY
I am looking for any reference to a marriage between a Martha McCullough and James P. McGahey (McGaughey) on May 4, 1845 in New Brighton Beaver County PA. If anyone can help.. or knows where I might be able to find this information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Deb
Does anyone know of a Lucinda Laughlin Murray married to a man, last name of Wiseman? We think our Lucinda Laughlin who married our Thomas Murray may have married a Wiseman after she was widowed before 1870. A Lucinda Wiseman with a daughter, Tillie Murray, lived in Rochester. Our Murray's lived in Green Township in 1850, in Hancock County Virginia (West Virginia) in 1860, and a Lucinda Wiseman with daughter Tillie is back in Green Township in 1880. We are trying to find any marriage, divorce, birth or death records for these people. Thanks!!! Karen, Quincy, WA
Deb: I don't think this will help your specific marriage search, however, I have a book that lists Beaver County marriages (1830-1973) as announced in Beaver County Newspapers. All were not announced. I find a McGAHEY, Robert (New Brighton) and Margaret FOSTER (Rochester) by Rev. J. Murray on 25 Jan 1855. Also, I have a Jane McCullough married to a Daniel Molter and a Mary McCullough married to an Alexander Hern. Might be some connection???? Good news! Ancestry.com has now indexed the 1930 census for PA (at least all the parts of Western PA I looked up.) There is a free trial period, which I found by clicking the 1930 census link at http://ancestralfindings.com/. Marilyn Mills Hesse [email protected]

If you happen across a Robert Fitzsimmons who died around 1865 at the age of 50-70 I'd love it. Don't know where he's buried. A few years ago I was doing research for an ancestor who died at her son's home in Midland. I was told to got to the Aliquippa Library & view the Beaver Valley Newspapers on Film. I didn't find what I was looking for. I don't know if this helps. Dear Listers, I am eager to find an obit for my great-great grandfather, John Von Allman, who died in Beaver Falls circa 27 April 1889. Unfortunately, the Beaver County Research center has no newspapers on microfilm from this year. They have up until mid 1888 and then there's a gap until 1892 or 1894. Does anyone know of other locations that have Beaver county newspapers from this time period? I've also tried the Carnegie PA Dept in Pittsburgh with no luck. -=Steve Bloomquist
The original of the missing page of the Mt Olivet Tombstone inscriptions has been found in the DAR Library, Washington, DC. Only members of the Walter and White families included thereon. Anyone desiring a copy, request by return Email. Todd

Hello! My New Brighton connection is the Riddell family, and I would appreciate it if some kind soul could look up Helen and William Riddell in a cemetery book for New Brighton. They were Presbyterians, if that will help. Thanks so much! Diane Ryder
Marilyn,How could one get one of those Centenial Books? My Hazens are suppose to be in it. Linda
Gina - and others- There are many names in the Beaver Falls Area Centennial book, but unfortunately there is no index. There are sections on the churches, clubs, fire department, police department, hospital and physicians, sports teams, industries, early cemeteries, government officials, utilities, and early families. If you know anything about your ancestor's activities, or if he was prominent in any way, it might be possible to find him mentioned.
