Just a reminder to anyone researching Dilworth in Beaver County, the Closson Press has both Dilworth diaries for sale www.clossonpress.com Rev. Robert Dilworth married many Beaver Co. residents, baptized their children & attended their funerals, and lists it all in his diary. The Dilworth family section of the diary is quite large, also. This man seemed to know everyone in the Little Beaver/Darlington area, and quite a few in Columbiana Co. Ohio. Jean in CA
I don't know if it will be a lead for you, but for a long time there was an allergist in Beaver that was named Ruth Wilson. She was quite respected. When I met her she was well past 60 and sharp as a tack. Very intelligent woman, a giant in the allergy field in that area of the country. She had an office on the main st. I think. This was in the late 1960's. I don't know if she was married or not. I just recall her as a woman of great vitality and brains. I didn't want to be there, allergy tests and all.... amie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Our Family Lines" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 28, 2003 12:29 AM Subject: [PABeav'r] Wilson's in Beaver Co,> OH including spouse surnames. Thank you Joel. They would have all been too old as the mother of William was born 1872. However did you find any at the address at #1 8th St. Midland? Also I would like the info for the William McGonigle in Aliquippa. It may be of some help as I have a deed for property in Aliquippa that an Aunt of the William I am looking for bought. FYI There are Lambrights living in Enon Valley, PA. today. Dilworth is an East Palestine, Columbiana Co,.OH name. East Palestine is the "big town" where people living in Enon Valley go to shop. It is only about 4 miles away. Lou, I am aware that some have the 1930 Census for various places. I don't personally, but I'd assume that you could rent them through Interlibrary loan at your local library if you ask. Or go to: www.familyhistory.org to FHL, Mormons webpages to perhaps rent from them. Many resources out there, they let you look at them for 3 weeks at their libraries, can copy for $.25 per copy. Loke most places around. Orlando, FL has a good Orange county (downtown on Orange Avenue) Courthouse that has all over the country Censuses, if your in the area, if you don't know it exists! I don't know where you live, but thought I would throw that out there, just in case. I found my grandmother in 1910 Columbiana County, OH Census, there, which surprised me then! And many FHL around FL, was surprised to find one in Greensburg, on the edge of Pittsburgh, so they're around. And there are many about three around the Orlando areas that I'm aware, in case your in FL. (I'm only familair with central FL, there maybe some I'm not aware of!) Specifically, Moffet (Moffat) or Moffit spellings are in my Warner's Beaver county, PA History. Which first names? This book has bios in it. AND LOTS OF ANDERSON'S! If your in the area of Beaver county, PA, Hancock Co, WVA, there's a Tri-State Genealogy Historical Society in Hancock County, Newell, WVA, on the main road, Washington Street, in the Wells building, right next to the Oak Glen Bears Stadium! (304) 387-2467. As far as known, they have the book (Warner's Beaver County History) in their collection as well as Census for Beaver County, Columbiana Co, OH also, Brook County, WVA.) I'm also aware that they have allot of other resources to use for researching, but call first, because you might have to schedule a meeting to do research?! I'm in FL, so don't know their hours such! I'm a supporter of them, as others are, because I've been there want them to (others to have access to these historical things in my home area). Hm. Appears there are quite a few Joseph Dilworths. Mine was born 1768 in Little Britain, Lancaster County, died 1836 in Beaver County. His wife's name was Rebecca Martin. I have a few Dilworths -- Joseph Dilworth b. abt 1791 married Elizabeth Lambright b. 1789. They were in Portage County, OH by 1820, and returned to Beaver County sometime before 1840. By 1840 Joseph and Elizabeth were separated. From the early Census tallies they must have had 6 or 8 children, but the only two I can prove are: Joseph Dilworth b. 1812 was last heard of by me on the 1860 Census in Williams County, OH. John A. Dilworth b. abt 1818 is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, OH. The elder Dilworths were still in Beaver County, still apart, in 1850. I haven't seen anything of them since. I know there were at least a couple of potential fathers for the elder Joseph, but I haven't got the family all sorted out yet. I know there were a couple of Ministers in the family, and there's some diary stuff published from at least one of them -- I think it was a Helen Clear I found in Allen County Public Library. I'd be interested in anything anyone has to share on Dilworths in general. Also interested in: LAMBRIGHT, THOMPSON, MUSSER, WILSON, GEARN/GEARREN/GARRIN -- that last one is spelled a different way every time you see it, it seems. Jack Brode Long Beach, CA
The subject line lists my Beaver County surnames; any takers? Penny

It would be more helpful to anyone posting for help if you would give full names, spouses, any dates & locations known. Then if someone has something they can help with, they will some idea of what you want. When I read a general question with no information included, I pass right on because your question is meaningless.
