    2. Dear Elsie: Thanks so much for your reply. I will get back to you shortly and show how Cliff and His mom fit into this line. She is from Hocking Co, Oh and several of her Ohio lines go back to Colonial America, as I have discovered as we go along. I don't have much time today but I'm sure you would like to see the connection and add it to yours. I know Linda would like to meet some of her "new cousins", too. ;-) Sincerely, Janice

    2. Hi Janice, I can tell you that he was still being tax in Ohio Twp. in 1816. You might want to contact the Beaver County Gen. Society for further info. I know they have a file on Heckathorne. http://www.rootsweb.com/~pabecgs/ Alice -------------- Original message -------------- From: JANICEC6@aol.com > Dear Listers: > > I am helping my new son-in-law, Cliff, research his mother's family tree and > have traced a line to your county. > > We are looking for further information on a Jacob Hackethorn/ Heckathorn b. > 1744 Germany and known to be in Hanover Twp in the 1800 census and in the Ohio > Twp in the 1810 census. 3. There is a great deal on the Heckendorn/Heckathorn line. Johann Jacob Heckathorn was born July 22, 1744 in Retschweiller, Alsace, France. His parents were Reinhard Jacob Heckendorn born June 9, 1715 in Memmelshoffen, Alsace, France and Anna Barbara June/Young. Barbara was born Dec. 22, 1715 in Retschweiller. They had five children, Reinhard Jacob of 1715 was married first to Margaretha Colman and they had four children. Your Jacob of 1744 married on Nov. 14, 1771 to Anna Maria Banzin. Jacob and Anna Maria had the following children. Barbara, born 1772 and she married Noah Potts. Jacob Heckathorn Jr., born 1773 and married Elizabeth Sadler. Daniel Heckathorn, born 1774. Katharine Heckathorn, born 1776 and married Jacob Best. John Heckathorn, born July 2, 1777. Henry Heckathorn, born 1778. You say Jacob had twelve children, I only have record of six and they were born in Frederick, Md. like you say. There are a lot of people researching this line so you should get lots of answers. If not, let me know as I have more. 2. Dear Listers: I am helping my new son-in-law, Cliff, research his mother's family tree and have traced a line to your county. We are looking for further information on a Jacob Hackethorn/ Heckathorn b. 1744 Germany and known to be in Hanover Twp in the 1800 census and in the Ohio Twp in the 1810 census. In the 1820 census he is in Columbiana County, Ohio. His 12 children are believed to have been born in Frederick Co, MD between 1772 and 1788 then moved to PA then to OH. Does anyone have anything about his family while they were in Beaver County? Any bios or early settler stories, etc.? Thanking you in advance for your help. 1. Caldwell's Atlas for sale
    2. Hello List, The Research Center for Beaver County is pleased to announce the sale of Caldwell's Illustrated, Historical, Centennial Atlas of Beaver County, Pennsylvania 1876 on CD. Original books have recently sold on ebay for over $600. Caldwell's Atlas for Beaver County was one of the few centennial atlases that was hand colored and some of the drawings were done by Emil Bott(http://www.lindapages.com/1wvi/1wvi-pic-bott.htm), noted artist of Beaver County. The CD contains original maps with original coloring except for the Beaver Falls map which is in black and white due to the deterioration of the original map. Viewer software is included with the CD. The software included is easy to use and allows the viewer to zoom in on individual land owners. The software is compatible with Windows XP, 2000, ME and Windows 98. The CD will be available at the Research Center next week. Order form and cost details are available at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~pabecgs/atlasorder.html Hopefully this will be the first of many CDs to be offered to Beaver County researchers from the Research Center for Beaver County. It is a co-operative effort between the Research Center and the Board of Commissioners of Beaver County and the Courthouse. Alice
