Hi to all, It's been awhile since I have posted here since genealogy research to a back seat for a bit. At any rate, I am still in search of information on my gggrandfather (William D. JONES). William D. JONES was born JAN 10, 1845 in Minersville, Meigs County, Ohio and died NOV 16, 1877 in Oakland (now Distant), Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. According to the Census' that I have found him in he appears to have been a "coal digger". I believe he may have worked around the furnaces. He was in Mahoning Furnace around 1869 and then went to Mansfield (now Carnagie) Allegheny County, PA. and then seemed to return to Armstrong County locating in Pine Creek Furnace in 1870. Sometime between 1870 and 1872 he returned to Mahoning Furnace and then by 1874 he located to Oakland (now Distant). He was married to Margaret Jane BOWSER prob. abt. 1868.
