Wonder if anyone will admit being related to any of the following James Ashkettle and wife Mary (???) who appear in the 1850 Plum Creek Twp. The only courthouse record I can find for James is when he sells some land for a school. William and Hannah (Carnahan) Woods who appear in the 1850 Freeport Twp, William is a coal digger. Both couples mored to Jackson County, IA about 1855. In almost 30 years of research I have never heard from anyone (except immediate family) who claims any knowledge much less relationship to these people. Thanks gayle1!@kansas.net
