I have recently received a death certificate on one of my ggrandfathers. On it it indicates that his father was born "on board ship". I'm guessing he was born while his parents were traveling to the United States. Has anyone ever dealt with anything like this before? I'm wondering if such a birth would have been recorded somewhere in the ship's records? In any case, it does seem to be an interesting little tidbit to add to the family's history.
