I'm a little bit discouraged with this list because (1) no one sends personal answers but addresses their messagesto everyone on the list which is quite often not necessary, and (2) no one puts subjects, like surnames, in the subject line. Most of that line is taken up with PAARMSTR-L and we know that's what it is. We are doing genealogy and looking for surnames and we want to make the time that we are paying for work for us. I'm reading a lot of messages that don't mean a thing to me because they are in reply to someone else's message but the subject is not mentioned in the subject; therefore, I can't just zap it and move on. (2)I think the PAARMSTR Introduction should be eliminated. A better introduction would be to list surnames instead. I'm trying to be constructive here instead of destructive, but I think we could all make this into a much more efficient list. I belong to five lists. For examples of more efficient lists, check out va-roots or even Roots-L and see how they use subject lines. Pat Genealogy forever--housework hardly ever! Pat Weisshaus patjw28@interaccess.com
