My brother and I spent yesterday going through cemeteries and old church records in Armstrong County. We had some successes. And it was a beautiful day on Pa. Our First stop was at new St. Patricks Church in Brady's Bend. The very nice ladies let us peruse the old record books. What a difficult task, they are in Latin and some are very hard to make out. It is amazing how many different ways I found Forquer spelled. We then visited St. Peter and Pauls Cemetery. There we found what I believe is my gggrandfather's grave. I was very pleased to see all the work that had been done at the cemetery. It is still will but much improved over a month ago. We then went to St. Mary's Cemetery and found another old family plot. Finally we stopped at the old St. Patrick's Cemetery and Church. There I was fascinated to see the old Catholic Church log cabin and read about the early settlers from County Donegal, Ireland. If anyone has any further references on this migration, I would like to know more about. I am going to Ireland this summer and would like to see if I can find anything over there. All in all, a beautiful day in PA! Paul W.
