Were they Catholic, that might work. If they were, for example Lutheran, then the records could be still with the congregation (like Brick Church), or with some successor congregation which absorbed the original one (like Trinity, Freeport), in some regional or national repository (no local example comes immediately to mind), in a historical society (like Heilman and Rupp), or in someone's house. I think a project to identify the early congregations (most of this information is in Beers) and determine the location and condition of their records would be of great value. And as long as we are discussing this, which early congregation would likely have been patronized by a Lutheran/Reformed family in Allegheny Twp. in the 1800-1850 range. Todd A. Farmerie
