Risher ( jaycr@dfsi.net ) I am researching the relatives of my Grandmother Samantha (Nanna) Seibert b. 1857 d. May 25, 1949 In New Lexington, Ohio. She Married John C. Risher after his first wife, Lucy Seibert died. They lived in East Brady, Pa. before moving to Ohio. She had several sisters, Maude, Clara, Emma Ida and Lucy. Their homestead, as I recall, was in a place called Seiberttown on the Allegeheny river in Brady,s Bend Twp. Armstrong County Pa. Is there a place on the river called Seiberttown? I can't find it. The surname may have been changed from Seybert to Seibert. Can anyone give me information about any Seiberts or Seyberts that livesd in East Brady, Clarion County or Brady's Bend, Armstrong County? >> I have a file on the SEYBERTs of Perry and Bradys Bend Tps of Armstrong Co PA. They married into my BARGER & TRUBY families. Sebasgtian SEYBERT, b 1800, m Mary Ann TRUBY, 1808 Westmoreland Co PA. They settled in Perry Tp early. I also have Sebastian lineage back to his gr-grpars, Johan SEYBERT & Anna Eva KLEIN. SEYBERTs were well-known in both Perry & Bradys Bend Tps--and Seybertown is located in Bradys Bend in a bend of the Allegheny River just south of Perry Tp. I'd be glad to exchange info with you on the family. Sharon A. Huffman sharhuff@aol.com >> I have just found your Samantha & Lucy SEYBERT. They were d/o Michael & Sarah SEYBERT. I did not have marriages in my file for either one. But to add frosting to the "cake" I also found your John Charles RISHER. His wife's name was given simply as Lucy--and John RISHER is a TRUBY descendant through the RUMBAUGHs. To confuse the issue, Samantha's ancestors were Sebastian Sr. & Anna Maria (BAUMAN) SEYBERT. Anna Maria's sister, Sybilla BAUMAN, married Christopher TRUBY, Jr.. Their daughter Elizabeth married Harrison RISHER and they were the parents of your John C. I have extensive files on the TRUBYs, and files on both the SEYBERTs & BAUMANs. Let me know what you're interested in. Also from the book "If These Hills could Talk" published by the Bradys Bend Historical Society are two or three pages on Seybertown. I'd be glad to copy these for you--or send to the list if anyone else is interested. The book printed in 1984 carries no copyright. Sharon A. Huffman sharhuff@aol.com
