And now we know you're in Armstrong here's a question on maps. In Smith's History of Armstrong County, he refers to many "base maps", the Lawson & Orr map as an example. Are these available somewhere? Some of Smith's land title exchanges are incomprehensible without them, but I've never seen them. Also, the 1800's little tax assemssment books. They were in pretty bad condition in the mid 1980s. Are they still avialable? I found great references on relatives and occuptions. Brian Green Great Falls, Virginia
