Thank you for the offer of look ups. I don't know where Fryburg is located, but I have a McDonald family that lived in Sugar Creek Township, Armstrong County, PA from about 1810 to mid 1850s. The family was headed up by John McDonald born abt 1792 in Ireland. His wife was Polly (which I think was a nickname). Their first child was born in 1829, and the last one was born 1849. The family was devout Catholics, even after they moved to Ohio, but I have no idea where they went to church while living in Armstrong County. I would very much appreciate a look up to see if maybe they attended St. Michaels. Thank you, Harold McDonald Cantonment, Florida
Hi Harold: Is there any chance that you have your McDonald family research to a later date? My grandmother's half brothers were Charles A. McDONALD born 27 Mar 1868, in Armstrong County (Tyrone City); died 1919 and Richard John McDONALD (c1871-1920). Their parents were John McDONALD and Susanna BARRICKMAN. From the obit of Charles, his father died in Allegheny Co., PA, when Charles was 6 years old. Family legend is there was a divorce. Susanna (Susan A.) married Francis "Frank" FRITZ and after leaving Armstrong Co.; went to Butler. If you know anything more I'd appreciate hearing about it. I have the obit and a photo of Charles A. McDONALD if you are interested. I know almost nothing about John Richard McDONALD except a death date of 23 Oct 1920 that was given to me by a cousin.
