Hi My Jonathan b. abt.1798 PA and Jane Young b. abt. 1795 PA, family was from Butler CO. They went to Iowa by 1850. One of their daughters Roseanne Young Reddick b. 1816 PA named a son William Reed/Reid Reddick. The Reddick family had Butler and Armstrong CO ties. ( Roseanne's brother in law, Jesse Reddick from Armstrong CO had a son named Harry Johnston) I know Young is a very common name, and difficult to trace. Some of the given names were Simon (Jonathan might have had a brother named Simon Young), James, Jonathan, David, Jane, Nancy. I think Reed/Reid and Johnston might have come from other family members or friends. Would any of this possibly fit your Young family?
