Susan and listers: Regarding the post below, what is the URL/site for "Treasures of the Past"? Thank you for your time. Marybeth Corrigall [email protected] --------------------- << Hi, If you haven't tried Treasures of the Past under the rootsweb.com. freepages area, please do. Look on rootsweb homepage and the freepages category is found in the lower left-hand corner. Clip on that, type in 'treasures' and it will take you to lots and lots of information, from cemetery and funeral home info, to marriages, to historical book info, to other researchers' names working on your lines, to orphans court records. Be sure to explore all of the site-it grows day by day. The first few times I was on it, I didn't realize its scope and only found a few cemetary records. A kind lister in FL suggested that I check it again and be sure to go to the bottom of the site where the search box was and BINGO-now I have two gg grandparents' burial, lots of additional info on their siblings-even found some I knew about, but didn't realize lived in that area. There are also maps with owners names, and mapped cemetery's that you click on and it gives you all who are buried there and often their spouse and children are identifiable because the plot numbers are listed. Have you had someone on PACen do a census lookup for you? They are very kind and will check one person/request. Subscribe to that rootsweb list also. I am sure you have checked the archives, just in case you haven't recently, keep returning as it changes dramatically by the week. Locally I have a friend who is working on the Young family, but I think his are in Erie county. I'll check with him and let you know. Susan Eppich ______________________________
Dear Marybeth, The only way that I know to get to it is through the rootsweb site. Freepages is a very large category of lists set up by individuals and Treasures of the Past is one of them. It was set up about two years ago by some ladies in PA. Go to the opening page of rootsweb.com and scroll down towards the bottom of the page on the left side. When you see freepages click on it. Then it will begin listing the sites, in alphabetical order-but be careful, it is not in strict order. Basically, It is ABCDE etc, but within each letter area you may find some of the sites are not always were you expect them to be. I think Treasures comes after several in order sites but before something that begin with Tir. There are several areas and categories within Treasures and it seems to be added to weekly. Hope this helps and it has been very helpful to me. Good hunting. Susan Eppich ps It is not limited to PA, although currently there is more about PA than anywhere else.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~treasures/ I think this is the one you are asking about. Aloha from Kauai Millie > > Regarding the post below, what is the URL/site for "Treasures of the Past"? > Thank you for your time. > > Marybeth Corrigall
