CATHERINE PURVIANCE -- Death called another of Leechburg's older citizens in the person of Mrs. Catherine Purviance, aged 82 years, beloved wife of William Purviance, at her home on Center avenue, Thursday morning, July 13, 1922. Deceased had been a resident of this place for many years, having come here from Gilpin Township, where her husband followed the pursuit of agriculture. Mrs. Purviance was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church, and was a person whose habits made her most estimable as a friend, neighbor and citizen. She was a daughter of the late Jarob [sic] and Margaret (Males) Ault. Surviving is her husband, William, three daughters, Mrs. R.E. Gosser, of this place, Mrs. Luella Montgomery, of McKeesport, Ivy at home, and one son William F., also of this place. Funeral services will be held at her late home on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.W. McPhail. Interment will be made at Forks Cemetery. >>
