This is the obit for my Grandmother Blanche Irene BEAVER GRESSMAN BREWER TALPAS who died June 16, 2001 The reason that I am posting this information is at the request of my Mother who wanted me to remind people that not everything that appears in an obit is 100 percent correct. Case in point, my Mom says 100 years from now there will be another little "Mickey" searching the family tree and if they should find this obit and read it, they will surely be looking in the wrong cemetery (in the wrong county even) for the correct burial site. I assurred my Mom that I would make note of the correction in my records and hopefully tomorrow's paper may be corrected for all to read, but just in case I am including the obit (as printed) with the correction made at the end. Irene B. Talpas, Oakmont Irene B. Brewer Talpas, 91, of Oakmont died Saturday (June 16, 2001) in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Oct. 17, 1909, in Westmoreland County. Mrs. Talpas was a former member of Apostolate Faith Church, Oakmont. Survivors include a son, Delbar Brewer of Latrobe; three daughters, Mrs. James (Glenda) Kelly of Cheswick, Lucille Brewer of New Kensington and Judy Brewer of Oakmont; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Talpas; two sons, Wayne Gresman and Jay Brewer; her parents, Jacob and Mary Beaver; three brothers; and six sisters. Friends and relatives are invited from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME INC., family-owned and -operated, 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. A celebration of her life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Riverside Community Church, Oakmont. The Rev. Greg Blythe, pastor of Dayspring Christian Center in Tarentum, will officiate. Burial will be in Free Gospel Cemetery, Freeport. * CORRECT BURIAL SITE SHOULD BE "Export" not "Freeport" And yes, there were a few more minor errors, so after my Grandmother's funeral on Wednesday I will take the time to correct all the errors, then I will post it to the Obit Board. And yes, errors do happen, and no, I am not angry with anyone. It is just important that when errors occur, we take the time to make the corrections so that future generations aren't walking down the wrong paths.
