Dear Pearl and Mickey, As a post script to all you have said, at a workshop I attended this spring, they also recommended that we 'store' our family information on the 'NET' in free space. They were not referring to any of the genealogy business sites, but said there is free space provided of about 150 kb units, where we can store our information that is only accessible by 'our chosen password', and so no one has access to it without our permission. Their comment was that papers and discs can be destroyed by flood, wind or fire. Power outages and computer failures keep computer files vulnerable. If it is also on the 'Net' then it is protected three ways. Thanks for all of your other ideas.
