He was born March 1846 near Saltsburg (according to Civil War papers) and was living in Elderton at the time of his enlistment in Co. G of the 103rd PA in 1861. In his papers are copies of affidavits from Elderton residents Samuel Elgin (who also served in the 103rd) and V Linsenbigler. George was the son of Jane Graham (of Indiana & Armstrong Co.) (daughter of William and Prudence Green Getty Graham ) and step-son of Robert M. Brown (ancestory unknown). Nothing is known of his natural father other than he was probably named Jacob and was possibly from Ohio. He married Catherine Ann Knepshield of Armstrong Co. after the war and lived in various places in Indiana, Armstrong, Allegheny Co and West Virginig throughout his adult life. George and Catherine were married by Rev. John Stark on August 16, 1866. They were the parents of 10 children. I have been working on! George for several years with very little success. Anything...and info. at all would be very welcomed!! Thanks, Sue
