There were a couple of woolen mills along Buffalo Creek, one in Craigsville and one in Worthington(currently west Franklin township). However I don't think they would have been there in 1807. The construction work on the Landerd-Thomas Genealogical Library in Kittannin, Armstrong Co., PA. has not been completed. Since we are near to closing time for winter, we have decided to close until the first week in April 2004. I am sorry for the inconvience. The staff is still going in to the library, to do research by mail. The donation is $8.00 per hour, plus copies. Perhaps we can help you this way. Connie Mateer, Librarian Lankerd Thomas Library P.O. I have just read the will of Barbara Clever Beck, second wife of Jacob Beck. No mention of any children for Barbara and Jacob is made in that will. Yet on the 1850 census, there is a female, born in 1833, named Ruth Beck living with them. Also a female Barbara Clever born in 1836. Is Ruth the Daughter of Jacob and Barbara? If not who are her parents? And who are the parents of Barbara Clever? Any help would be appreciated. Norma Rogers.

I have DUNMIRE's in Blair County in 1850. However, I am hitting brick walls and thought that I would try posting here since there were many DUNMIRE's in Armstrong County, in the hopes that someone may find a connection. Michael DUNMIRE would have been born about 1820. His wife's name was Mary Ann (maiden name unknown). The 1850 census indicates that they were both born in Germany. It also shows 2 children, Ephraim (born 27 Apr 1848 PA) and Cather (I guess Catherine?....born about 1849 in PA). Ephraim is my gr-gr grandfather. He married Susan CARLES and they resided in the Frankstown area of Blair County. I cannot find anything on Michael DUNMIRE prior to 1850. Would appreciate ANY help! Abby
Hi Tom, I read a little further down and there is a Mayville Station in Red Bank Twp., Clarion Co. That is confusing! Hi Tom, I have a book that lists all the little towns in PA in 1900. There is no Mayport, but Maysville is in Kiskiminetas (Kiski) Twp., not Red Bank. Good luck in your research. MAYPORT is in or near New Bethlehem, PA You go through New B.......Mayport is next town if I am remembering right. The road goes to the right going under an underpass. Someone else may get you closer to your destination..
