    1. [PAARMSTR-L] Help with Cemetery Address and Possible Search
    2. Joyce Anthony
    3. Hi Everyone: I've been having a horrible time trying to find where my great-grandfather is buried. From the few clues I have, it is a good possibility that he is in Oakland Cemetery--in Distant. Is there anyone on the list that can possibly help me with: **an address to write to this cemetery **possible search of cemetery/cemetery records for Robert Thomas ANTHONY (supposedly died April, 1917) I would be more than glad to cover any costs incurred in this search---this man has been a mystery for so long. Please contact me if you can--or know of someone in the area who can--help me with this. Thanks, Joyce

    1. [PAARMSTR-L] BARNHART FAMILY PHOTOS
    2. As I recall, a few years back there were photos online of BURTON BARNHART and his wife; of his home at Maple Hill; and of JACOB BARNHART, JR. and his wife. Due to a computer meltdown I lost my Favorite Places and unfortunately had not printed copies of these photos. I have searched repeatedly and cannot find them anywhere online. The biography of BURTON BARNHART is from BEERS HISTORY OF ARMSTRONG CO.and I wonder if these photos were from it also? I am also sending this query to the Butler Co. list. SOLOMON RUMBAUGH BARNHART and MARY JONES BARNHART were my great grandparents. I believe SOLOMON was grandson of JACOB, Jr. so these photos would be a wonderful addition to my research. For any BARNHART researchers who might be interested, I have an original photo of SOLOMON in the uniform of the 103rd PA Volunteers and of his wife MARY which I am going to post to the ARMSTRONG OLD PHOTOS site. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated. Rose Dennis Adams

    2. Problems with AOL.com not letting RootsWeb mail through their spam barriers. Check the help desk at RootsWeb.com. 1. [PAARMSTR-L] New Pennsylvania Forums
    2. Sherry
    3. I have started a Pennsylvania Genealogy Forum located at http://genealogy.myzf.com/ I have tentatively added quite a few western PA counties, and can add many more forums as the need arises. Please feel free to write to me with suggestions for forums, however, they must all be pertinent to PA. These forums are absolutely FREE,but you must register with a user name and password to use them. However, that is ALL the information that is required of you. You don't have to give your real name or address or anything of that nature. If you despise pop-ups as much as I do, you will be delighted to know that there are NO POP-UPs whatsoever on this site, although there is some small, unobtrusive advertising at the top of the page. However, I don't feel this detracts at all from the purpose of the page, and can be easily ignored. You will notice the forums are not alphabetized-- this is because every time new information is posted in a forum, it rises to the top. So you will never have to guess if a forum has had new material posted to it. Most of the forums are formatted to allow the uploading of pictures. You will also have the ability to send e-mail to others posting on the website. No one will be able to see your e-mail address, and you can choose to respond or not to any messages that you get. Of course, the rules of Netiquette apply to these forums. No flaming, insults, nasty language, spam or other such nonsense permitted. I am still learning the in's and out's of the website features myself, but if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me privately and off the list. If I don't know the answer, I will make every effort to get one from Dave Whittinger, the designer of the myzf.com website. So go ahead and try it out! Thanks, Sherry

    3. Just wanted to extend my apologies to any members of the club who belong to the list. The quarterly has been done since before Christmas but we haven't been able to get together for the mailing. I think that the labels have now been printed, so I'm hoping to get the quarterly out within the next week or so, weather permitting. I'm going up to the library today to see if I can do anything to speed up the process. Once again, my sincere apologies. Linda

    3. Linda: Thank you for your reply for my question about 1811 burial of Nicholas Walhey...A book was published by Bradys Bend Historical Society, Inc. P. O. Box 451, East Brady, Pa. 16028 for $25.00 in 12 2000, "ATOP THESE HILLS..a compilation of the major cemeteries of the Brady's Bend Area....It includes Old St. Patrick's Cemetery...For his Eagle Scout community project, Matthew Delano choose to make a plot map of the cemetery...The Historical Society printed an overview sheet and six enlargements which show all sections of the full map...The Historical Society has a full page copy in the Bradys Bend Historical Society Archives for those who would like to see it....Perhaps you could go to visit them and find the information you are seeking..I live in California, so have not been able to go see the enlargements....Again Thank you, Pearl "Linda J. Walker" <ljwalker@worthington-pa.us> wrote:In August 2000, I visited St. Patricks cemetery to search for James CLANCY. While we were there the 'caretaker' came to unlock the old log church for the day. She told me she had some books that she would bring and I could look thru if I was still going to be there when she came back around lunch time. We searched the cemetery, but unsuccessfully. I searched her books. James CLANCY would have died between 1854 and 1857. Now in looking at my notes from that day, the death records did not go back that far. So this book won't help you for 1811. However, it did record the remarriage of the CLANCY widow - "Sept. 16, 1857 James KENNEY and Catherine CLANCY". If I remember correctly, she also said the Diocese of Greensburg would hold any other records for St. Patricks. Have you tried there?
