    3. Would those of you looking for COLEMANs, please keep an eye out for a Robert Wallace MORROW? He was my ggrandfather, and I know nothing about his parents. Information from family sources claim his mother died when he was young, and he was raised by a family named COLEMAN. There are dead ends for any vital records. Robert was born 12 Feb 1832 near Rittang (or Rittaug?). He had one brother, George, one sister and a half brother, William who were also brought up by the COLEMAN family. On 23 Aug 1855, Robert married Sarah Nancy SUTTON. He died 13 Oct 1904 in Triumph Township PA. Thanks for your help. Marianne

    2. hello, looking for any sources about the history of the area especially regarding 1860 to 1880. i have the book IF THESE HILLS COULD TALK. im researching BENSON, KAIN, GALLAGHER, Irish imigrants who came about 1860 and worked in the iron works. The Bensons were there at least until the 1880 census was taken. I understand the iron works closed in 1873. does anyone know what the pricipal employer was after 1873 if any? any newspapers form this time period? any pictures, especially of the houses and neighborhoods that no longer exist? thanks, Joe Broderick, Cincinnati Ohio

    2. Sherry Jesberger, Could you please check your 1850 Census book for Jacob Warner and his wife Jane( Walker ) living in Pine Twp. at that time. I am interested to know if there are other Walkers living in the vicinity at the time, particularly someone who could be Jane's parent. Thanks in advance for your help! Jim Hazlett JHazl@aol.com

My family came from Brady's Bend, PA. in the 1860's to Colorado. I know they left family in PA. but have not had much luck finding out about them. The surname is Snow, Nicholas.

    3. Deeds for Armstrong Co. begin in 1805, earlier than that one must go to the parent county. For the sourthern end, Kittanning and south it would be Westmoreland.
