    1. [PAARMSTR-L] HALL Family
    2. Hi, In the Armstrong County GenWeb archives there is a biography for Daniel R. and Robert J. Hall. One archive page says the bio was submitted by Alice Gless, but there is no email address for her. Another archive page says the bio was submitted by Candy Grubb. There is an email address for her, but she did not answer my message. Does anyone know if either or both of these ladies is a member of this list. The HALLS mentioned in the bio are part of a family that I have been researching for several years and I would like to exchange information with either or both of the ladies mentioned above. Thank you for your help. Ken T. k.tessendorff@worldnet.att.net Researching HALL & COOK in Armstrong, PA & Modoc, CA CUMMINS & MURDOCK in Calaveras, Colusa & Modoc, CA

    1. [PAARMSTR-L] Immigration request for info forms
    2. Bob Cramer
    3. Hi: I'm fairly new to the list and this just may be a repeat that someone has already done. I was/am going to request my grandfather's, MICHILINE, Aniballe (Joseph), Immigration records and found that I could download the needed form from the INS at http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/forms/download/g-639.pdf and print it out. You will need a laser or ink jet printer and a compatible reader. I first tried to download to Word (95 version) and got nothing but gobbledygook. I then used Adobe Acrobat and got everything fine. Hope this helps someone. Bob Cramer kathybob@erols.com

    3. James, According to the 'History of the Bowser Family', pg 155, Peter Toys' wife was Delilah Bowser. I found a photo copy of this book at the Butler County Public Library, Butler, PA. According to this book, Peter & Delilah had 14 children. It shows that Benjamin Lee was born May 10, 1847, m. Rachel Hollobaugh, lived in Walk Chalk, PA and their children were: Rosie, Hamilton, Belle, Hannah, Mollie, Bert, & Curtis. This book has a lot of information on the BOWSER family, but is very hard to follow. (Benjamin's brother, Valentine was my g-g-grandfather.) 2. Hi. My name is Patrick Beltz and am living down south just outside of New Orleans. I am researching the BELTZ family name. My g-g-grandfather, Adam BELTZ, moved to Armstrong Co. about 1836 from Allegheny Co. Where he came from before is not known other than his being born in PA. The 1880 census stated his birthplace as PA. Also it stated his father was from Germany and his mother was from PA. He married a Susanna Wagner of PA. They are buried in Barrecca Cemetery in Plumville, Indiana Co. PA. The family lived in Plumcreek Twp and Cowashannock Twp. They moved to Plumville in the late 1870's. They had the following children: 1. Elizabeth BELTZ - b. abt. 1830 2. Mary Ann BELTZ - b. abt. 1832 3. Daniel BELTZ - b. 9 Mar 1834 in Pittsburgh d. 13 Feb 1912 in Scioto Co, OH - Daniel married first a Caroline OILER. They divorced and he married Mary HARKLEROAD, daughter of George Adam HARKLEROAD and Susan MARTIN. 4. Rachel BELTZ - b. 10 Aug 1836 d. 24 Oct 1920. She is buried in the Methodist Church cemetery in Whitesburg, PA. She was married to John Cook CRAFT. 5. Sarah BELTZ - b. 10 Aug 1836. She is a twin to Rachel. 6. Margaret Jane BELTZ - b. 17 Jan 1839 d. 14 Dec 1908 in Adams Co, OH. She was married to Isaac L. REARICK in 1861. 7. Andrew Jackson BELTZ - b. 1 Apr 1841 in Whitesburgh, PA d. 18 Nov 1915 in Plumville, PA. He was married to a Charlotte CESSNA. 8. Rebecca BELTZ - b. abt. 1843 9. Malinda BELTZ - b. 1846 d. 1873 10. Susanna BELTZ - b. abt. 1850 I am trying to find info on the birthplace and the parents names of Adam. Also, any info on the daughters that I don't have any info on. I would appreciate any info about who they married. I would be glad to share what info I have. Thanks, Patrick Beltz P.O. 3. I am just beginning to work on my Morrison Line in Armstrong Co. Nancy Isabel Morrison married William Penberthy in Bradys Bend in 1865. William was in the 103rd Pennsylvania Volunteers and an Andersonville Survivor. In obtaining her widows pension after the civil war in 1899 she state that her parents were James Morrison and Maryann Schrader. The James Morrison family, with Nancy, appears in the 1840, 50 and 60 census of Armstrong Co. I have done no research on this line yet but am ready to start. Is anyone related to this line. John

    1. [PAARMSTR-L] Freeport, 1820's
    2. I am trying to find out what my ancestor, David PUTNEY, did in Freeport, prior to purchasing the property that would eventually become Putneyville. He married Lavinia STEVENSON in 1818, in Pittsburgh, according to the biographies I have seen. They then moved to Freeport, where they lived together until 1833. Then he moved to the Putneyville property with his older sons, while she remained in Freeport until there was a proper house to move into in Putneyville. This represents about a 15 year time span where I don't know his occupation. I do know that most, if not all, of his kids were born in Freeport. If anyone knows of any sources where I can find this information out, I would appreciate the help. Also, since he was a state legislator, I would think that there would be obituaries or biographical sketches in the local papers. Does anyone know what paper would have covered the Putneyville area in 1854 (the year he was elected) through 1879 (the year of his death), and if it would be available through ILL? Patti
