    1. [PAARMSTR-L] Early Land Records for Plumcreek Twp.
    2. Ron McCausland
    3. I would like to know which county would have the land records for the area of Plumcreek Twp. prior to the formation of Armstrong Co. I have to rent film at the local FHC and would like to get the correct one on the first try. Also, was Cowanshannock Twp. once a part of Plumcreek Twp.? Is there a good source that explains the formations of the townships in the county and how they evolved? I have a map of the current townships but would like to know what was where at the early census dates. Thanks for your interest. Regards...Ron mailto:mcc533@scsn.net

    3. Wonder if anyone will admit being related to any of the following James Ashkettle and wife Mary (???) who appear in the 1850 Plum Creek Twp. The only courthouse record I can find for James is when he sells some land for a school. William and Hannah (Carnahan) Woods who appear in the 1850 Freeport Twp, William is a coal digger. Both couples mored to Jackson County, IA about 1855. In almost 30 years of research I have never heard from anyone (except immediate family) who claims any knowledge much less relationship to these people. Thanks gayle1!@kansas.net

    3. Hi Karen, William and Prudence Graham lived in Indiana Co. (Armstrong Twp.) ,near Elderton, before moving to Armstrong Co. The names of Prudence & James Getty's children were: James, Andrew and Catherine Getty. (The paper regarding guardianship for the children is on file at the Indiana Co. Court House. I spent a day there and found a ton of stuff on the Grahams. It was pretty overwhelming and I didn't have the time to go through to find what applied to my particular Grahams. I don't live far from Indiana, PA but work during the day and can't get up to the courthouse when they are open.) My GGrandfather, George Washington Grubbs was born to Jane Graham (daughter of Prudence and William Graham) in 1845. He was born in Elderton. The father was thought to be a Jacob Grubbs but I've never found any trace or mention of him. Have you ever heard of a Grubb(s) tied in anywhere? It would be interesting to see if and how our ancestors connect. Please stay in touch. Thanks!
