I have a problem today that has been driving me crazy. I have a Samuel Bish who was born approximately 1845. He was married to a woman named Matilda Mae. In 1880 they are living in East Franklin Twp. In 1860 he is single and 16 years of age living in Perry Twp with William Crawford. However, for some reason, he was totally missed on the 1850 census, thus I do not have a clue who his parents were. Samuel and Matilda Bishes children that I have found were: Daisy M. Bish born circa 1892. She married Robert Toy, son of John and Rebecca Toy, in 1910 in Kittanning, PA. John H. Bish born circa 1880. He married Lizzie Toy, same parents as above in 1901 in Worthington, PA. John and Lizzie (Toy) Bish had a son name Herbert Curtis Bish who was born circa 1901and he married Ivy Pearl Bowser in 1918 in Kittanning, PA. James M. Bish born circa1882. He married Edith F. Slagle in 1903 in Kittanning, PA. I have run across this family repeatedly in my courthouse research in the area. Does anybody know anything about Samuel Bishes parentage? Are there any descendents out there who may be able to clear this up? Any help appreciated. Sherry Bish Jesberger gljslj@penn.com

A week or so ago, someone asked about Plum Creek, Indiana Co. and birth/baptism records. They were confused and wondered if it was Plum Creek Armstrong or Indiana. In Armstrong Co., we have a Plumcreek Twp. but in Indiana Co. there is a Plumcreek Presbyterian Church. Those baptism records were donated to Lankerd-Thomas Library (Kittanning) by Ann Monrad from CA, who copied them from a micro-film of the original Session Book. That Plumcreek Church, Indiana Co., is located in Washington Twp. Dates 1848 to 51. Some of the surnames: Shirr, McGary, Smith, Erwin, Stewart, McAdoo, Miller, Elliot, Beaty, Bean, Allison, Spence etc. That whole thing puzzled me also, so I did a little research today. Perhaps that will clear up the two Plumcreeks. Connie M.

MYERS (16 Jan 1897-Feb 1985) Hi Jim Once again you have helped. I didn't have the names of Maud's (LaMaude) parents and siblings. After receiving your info I talked with my mother and it turns out she remembers the siblings very well and told me some family stories I hadn't heard. One update: Milford V. Myers birthday was July 23, 1894. He was born in Frogtown, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co. If you're interested I have four more generations of descendants for Milford. If you have anything back futher that Johnson KING and Mary Ann BYERS I would be interested. Thanks. Gayle

Mary, Thanks. My Phillip Smith was born about 1800 in PA (according to the census). I haven't tried real hard to find him, due to the common last name. Mary: Thanks for taking the time to type the Smith information from the Armstrong County History Book. It gives me hope that I might actually find my Phillip Smith's parents. Up until now, I have hit only brick walls. Frances

Just begining to Research the following Surnames: MYERS, Frederick; Michael; and Henry KAMERER, Margaret A. KING, LaMaude KLUGH, James Any info welcome Gayle
Searching for Jennie (Jane) WALKER b1798, wife of my Jacob WARNER b 1792 in Loudon Co, Va who later removed to Armstrong Co. They could have been married in either place by the book of early Loudon marriages does not show it. The 1850 census enumerates them in Pine Twp. There are many WALKER lines in Armstrong but I can't seem to connect her with any of them. Would like some ideas from other WALKER researchers. JHazl@aol.com

Mary, Thanks so much for sending along the Smith line. I'm not a descendant of that line. I'm descended from Wilhelm Best and John Adam Schaeffer, Jr. who came to the US on "Winter Galley". Wilhelm"s wife Anna Sussanna Schaeffer had a sister Barbara. Barbara is who George Smith married. Sue Hilty
Who was looking for the surname REESMAN? I have some info on the Reesman family that was sent to me last summer. I am not a Reesman descendent, but there was a Reesman family that lived here in Elk Co., PA that I was working on. Let me know. Sherry
