Lynnette: I have a few of the same surnames you have. Hopefully, there might be a connection. My g.g.grandmother, Elizabeth McFarland (born 1810) married Absalom Solomon Doutt. She was the daughter of William McFarland, who was born about 1773, Ireland. Elizabeth had a sister, Margaret, who married Alexander Walker. Any connection? I also have Wiggins in my records. Catherine Doutt (born about 1811) married Philip Wiggins, and settled in Allegheny Co., PA. Then there is Lytle. William Lytle married Anna Doutt (born about 1829). They lived in Butler co., PA, I believe. They had several children, but I have little information on them. Hoping there might be a connection. Hi, I have been on this list for a few months and found the information to be very helpful and accurate as I countercheck records. Many thanks to all those devoted ones who take care of the questions and help to field resources for those of us who have never been there. These are my family names: John Oliver MILLER married Nancy Elizabeth SNOW in 1865 in Franklin, Venango County,Pennsylvania (They had and raised children around Brady's Bend. Nicholas Snow married Rachel Shirley (Dates unknown, but parents to Nancy Elizabeth Snow Miller) They raised their 6 children in Brady's Bend. Appreciate the opportunity, Maureen

I have two old ledger books that show names & items purchased from a "Johnstons & Martins ". The dates are around 1871/1872. In the front of one it says "Johnstons & Martins Day Book 1872 April 8". Anyone know of a store in Atwood by that name during the 1870's? My Great Great Grandfather, John E. Stewart may have been the bookkeeper Or worked in the store. My Stewart family lived near Atwood. Lynette, I notice from your list that you're researching WARNER and WALKER. My Jacob WARNER ( son of Peter WARNER Jr) b1792 was married to Jane ( Jennie) WALKER b 1798 living in Pine Twp at the time of the 1850 census. I have been able to trace Peter back to Loudoun Co, Va but I am unable to find the WALKER origins. Any help would be appreciated! Jim Hazlett JHazl@aol.com
Calhoun Cemetery is in Boggs Twp. about 10 miles north of Kittanning. There are 7 Walker's buried there: Dora M. , Elizabeth, James M., Margaret, "Our Mother" possibly Col. Robert Walker's wife, Col. Robert Walker and Robert F. (Walker ?) Are any of these yours ? Connie M.
Monette; Who are your Bailey's in Armstrong Co.? Darleen Berens
Hi Jerry, Nice to know someone out there has some of my family names as I have a lot of gaps to fill.. I hope you do not mind but to save time I am going to forward you a copy I have already typed and if you will please go to number 1.1457 you will find your Schreckengost married to Solomon HEILMAN, and their issue. There are about thirteen parts of this Heilman family from Armstrong County and surrounding areas of PA and if you are intested in any other names we may share I would be happy to send those parts on. I put the net on my WEBTV before I got interested in genealogy - big mistake and now I must get a program for my PC and transfer all the records as you know how you can get hung up on all this fun research. I will forward it right after I get this off and thank you for writing...Monette - a Heilman/Wingard kid.
Joyce, Sorry, it looks like these may be different families. I checked your names against what I have and there doesn't seem to be any matches. All of my STEELE's were in Armstrong Co. from 1797 on. Carol, None of these seem to tie into my family, but as big as the STEELE family was, I imagine that there may be a connection. My line is as follows... Samuel, born in Ireland, married Elizabeth LACKEY, came to the US in the early 1700's. Isaac, son of Samuel & Elizabeth, b 2/27/1758 in Chester Co, PA, married Jane BARR Isaac B. STEELE Jr., son of Isaac and Jane, born 8/1/1805 in PA, married Phoebe SNOW. Which cemetery in Armstrong Co. are you speaking of?
