    3. There are references to Christopher Oury (Urich or Ourich) in 7 pages of the "History of Armstrong Co.", most of which refer to real estate. I will give you a summary tonight and will send more detail when I have time to read it all. He had a tract of land of 312 1/2 acres in Kittanning Twp. which was seated by Richard Graham and Abrahm Tiscus. Apparently, it was next to a tract seated by Jacob Schrecengost. In 1805-6 he was assessed with 300 1/2 acres, 1 distillery, three horses, three cattle, $345.50. In 1806, $350.50. "A notable point in early times was on the Christopher Oury tract, where Richard Graham settled and kept an inn, which was a favorite resort for pleasure parties from Kittanning and elsewhere." page 182. On May 26, 1826, a sermon was preached on the sixth and seventh verses of Colossians on a five acre tract donated to the church by Christopher. More later!!! I have two books on early births(1675-1875) and central PA marriages(1700-1896)for misc. areas of PA. (Nothing for Armstrong Co.)     3. There is a small private Rupert cemetary in Girty, Armstong Co. I have Ruperts & Rupps. I'm not sure if there are any Rupp's in it. It's really run-down. Very few graves left.

    3. Hi to All, I am researching my husband's side of the tree. His ggreat grandfather was John DEVIT/DEVITT and Anna___. Both from Ireland. John was born about 1823 and Anna was born about 1836. I first found them in Brady's Bend, Armstrong Co., PA in the 1860 census. They had two children listed; Mary Anna, 3 yrs old & John 2 yrs old. Mary Anna married Charles DOLAN sometime before 1877. Charles was born in Ireland in 1842 and came to the US in 1863 (according to census records). I don't find Mary Anna and Charles DOLAN until the 1880 Census, Greene Co,IL Does anyone know anything about these DEVIT's or Charles DOLAN. I have other DEVITT's in the Armstrong Co., census records, but can't make a connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Irene Dolan tdolan@alaska.net

    2. Could someone tell me where I might locate a cemetery list for a Catholic Cemetery in the Brady's Bend area? I am looking for the burial site of Manus Boyle and his wife Anna Sharkey Boyle. They were living in Brady's Bend during the 1880 census, and were in their early 70's then. Any help, especially the location of a Catholic Cemetery in that area would be appreciated. I am assuming they were both dead before the 1890's.thank you ...sue b.
