    3. Hi, I saw this post and just have to ask if this Zula Wagner (your grandmother) had a twin Lula Wagner? Their parents were: Bruce Wagner and Zora Campbell. Let me know please. I have photos of these girls. They would be great aunts to me. Bruce's brother Otis Wagner was my great grandfather. My Wagner's settled in West Wheatfield twp. Indiana, Co. PA. I have lots of info on them if anyone is interested. The Rearicks are also a main line in my tree. 1. [PAARMSTR-L] Reed/Young-Armstrong Co/Clarion Co, PA
    2. Hello all! I am researching my ggGrandmother's lineage. Her maiden name was Mary E Reed (b. about 1864 in PA) (she was of Armstrong and Clarion Counties in PA).  She married David W. Young (b.about 1860 in PA).  From looking through the censuses for the time period of her youth and those areas of PA, I find only one Mary E Reed that fits her age, name and location.   The family I find, that may possibly be her family is that of Aaron Reed b. about 1835 in PA m. to Susannah ? (Williard maybe)b. about 1845 in PA.  They are shown in the 1880 census as having the following children Mary E Reed (I believe this may be my ggGrandma, same name, same age)b. about 1864, William H Reed b. about 1865, James Reed b. about 1866, Sarah Reed b. about 1868, John A Reed b. about 1870, Emma Reed b. about 1872, Susanah Reed b. about 1874, George E Reed b. about 1876, and Irvin Reed b. about 1879 (all born in PA) I am wondering if any of you know of this Reed family from the 1880 census, especially Mary E Reed (the daughter) and who she married.  I am looking to see if she is the Mary E Reed that did in fact marry my ggGrandfather David W Young, making her my ggGrandmother???   Depending on the census years determining whether it was Armstrong or Clarion County, these families of Reed and Young, along with my other ancestors the Sherman family lived closed by eachother (often same Street/Road)! I appreciate any help that you can offer!  Thank you very much! ~Karen George Smith ...Searching Family Tree surnames: George,Chestnut,Adams,Boone,Bowser/Bausser,Edelmann,Sherman, Young,Heeter,Reed,Johnston,Corson(Courson),Downing...(Many from in/around Armstrong,Clarion,Berks,Northumberland Co.'s of PA)

    3. Hi Rearick Researchers, Seems that I have stirred up the pot, so to speak. Glad I mentioned the Rearicks, but I still have not heard from the one girl that I was looking for. But anyways, here is some of my new findings:Francis REARICK (9/2/1837-10/23/1876) married ???? (I have 2 names????=Catherine WAMPLER born 3/17/1844 (married on 8/9/1862)and then Maggie died 4/27/1876. This appears to be their children: Lawrence D. (3/4/1864-?), Solomon W. (2/8/1866-1944)He married a Martha J. ? (1870-1943), *John Boyer (see below), Lydia (4/10/187?-?), J. C. (5/25/187?-?), Maggie (4/27/187?-?), B. Franklin (8/18/187?-?) *John Boyer REARICK (2/24/1868-12/18/1936) married Elizabeth "Lizzie Catherine/Katherine SHOWERS (7/11/1867-1918) on 7/3/1890 in Olean NY. They were both from Benezette PA (Elk County). Their children: Reil Rosella (2/27/1892-?), Franklin LeRoy (2/21/1894-8/20/1952), Daisy Catharine (10/18/1895-12/5/1933), Ralph Alonzo (9/6/1897-1/18/1960--this is my husband's grandfather), John William (4/26/1900-?), Mildred Ruth (3/10/1902-?), Martha Lovia (12/21/1904-4/8/1994). After all of this, my m-i-l has given me pictures of some tombstones with writings on the back like, Saul and Martha REARICK's sons: Byron C. (1892-1978) and Maza B. (1891-1957). Here is another twist: There is a picture of a tombstone that says--MOTHER Catherine Whited 1844-1921. This could be Francis' wife, perhaps she remarried?????? There is also a picture of Bradley REARICK's tombstone. He was born 11/10/?-1989. Not sure where he fits into the line. Any help would be appreciated. Laurie in Butler PA [email protected]

    1. Re: [PAARMSTR-L] Rearick researchers
    2. I do not know who my grandmother's father and mother were. I was 15 when my grandmother died in 1956, and was not too interested in family then, I remember taking my Gaunt Olive Hawk and my grandmother Zula Belle Wagner Weckerly to Chicora on Memorial Day to put flowers on their parents grave. My grandmother Zula Belle Wagner ws married to an Alvin Ernest Weckerly. They had two sons, Clair and Dean. Clair (my dad) was born May 13, 1911 and died July 1, 1971 Dean was born May 24, 1917 and passed away in 1985?(. I do not have my notes here to read) Dad lived all his life in (Hagantown), Parker, Pa. Uncle Dean lived all his married life in Bruin, Pa. My grandmother had one sister--Olive Wagner Gifford Hawk. She lived all her married lfe in Bruin. Pa. Had one brother--Harry Wagner, who lived in Karns City,Pa. When I was growing up I remember a newspaper article that my grandmother had kept. It was about the masacre at what today is the Old Stone House near Slippery Rock. She told me that she was relatd to these people and that there was a survivor, a baby. At 14 to 17 I was not really interested, but today at 65, I am into genealogy and would like to know more about her family. I have written to three Dick Wagner's--one in West Sunbury, who called me today and said he was not related. His father, lives on Old Rt 8 and is no relation to the Wagner's I described. I am waiting to hear from on more Richard Wagner, I know that my grandmother's brother Harry Wagner had a son named Richard Wagner, who was raised in Karns City. Possibly living in or near Butler. I have not seen this Richard Wagner since my grandmother died in 1956 The Richard Wagner fom West Sunbury said he has history of Wagner's back to 1800. I am going to all him tomorrow and see who he has. Thank you for writing. Did you see my query on Butler site? Will be looking forward to hearing from you.

    3. I'm not sure if I am "that" Wagner or not. My grandfather was Paul Wagner (d. 1986) His father was Alvin Vernon Wagner (d. 1964) His father was Samuel Wagner (d. 1932) His father was John Wagner (d. 1901) His father was Mathias Wagner (Wagoner) (d. 1862) (the first generation I know in this country). They seem to have settled in the center township or clearfield or burnside PA areas...Does this help? I would hope to have a connection...Let me know what you find out! Do you see one of these men at least on a sibling list? Lauri in Indiana PA

    3. Thank you for the reminder about those commercial "histories". People certainly submitted only the information they wanted to see in print - there were no black sheep and no family skeletons in hidden closets mentioned. The document with the highest probability of error is, I think, the death certificate, particularly for an older person. Often the person providing the information is someone younger and chances are they are guessing at some of the deceased person's data, i.e., date of birth, place of birth, parents' names, and sometimes even spouse's name. And as you say, there can also be mistakes in census inputs. My great grandmother's five children were recorded in the 1880 census. Three of them said their mother was born in New York, the other two said she was born in Pennsylvania. Again, thank you for your note.
