Names are handwritten. Picture of it can be seen on E-Bay. The amount was 25$. Thought this might be nice for the family (families) to have. It may even prove they were in the area at the time! 1. [PAARMSTR-L] Wesley Bowman family Freeport 1850
    2. RonLyn Mockenhaupt
    3. Interested in learning what I can about the Wesley and Tamar BOWMAN family shown in Freeport in 1850. Also with them is Rebecca Elward, 79; Eliza Elward, 52; Eliza Estep, 68; Emeline Bowman, 22; Joseph Bowman, 14; Elizabeth, Bowman, 12; and Thomas, 6. I believe that Rebecca and Eliza Elward, may be my 4th and 3rd ggrandmothers repectively. John and Rebecca Alward had son Henry who married Eliza Awl Elder in 1818 in Dauphin County. They removed to Pittsburgh sometime between 1830 and 1840. By 1850, Henry and family had disappeared. One of his sons, John E. Alward is living in Armstrong County in 1850. Another is in Pittsburgh. My relative, Forster Alward, was living in Pittsburgh from 1850 on according to his pension records, although I have been unable to locate him in the 1850 census. Any help on the BOWMANs would be greatly appreciated. Linda

    3. List, Once again, as of today, July 25, 2001, my Roll Call Mania Web Site has once again been updated. This update includes ALL submissions sent to me to date, so if some of you don't see your surnames and information listed, please resubmit your information to me, making sure that you follow the guidelines for all the information that I need, which appears at the beginning of my Roll Call Mania Web Site Page. Once again the direct url is: Mickey's Roll Call Mania Web Page http://mickey.pa-roots.com For those of you who may be new to the list, this is a permanent web site maintained by yours truly, listing various family surnames, in various counties in Pennsylvania and how to contact the person researching that particular surname. There is no charge at all to use this site or to submit your surnames. Nate and Alice, our listmasters, gave all of us on the list the opportunity to have some FREE web space, and this is what I chose to use my FREE space for. Just my way of trying to help others connect to possible Internet Cousins. Enjoy! Mickey [email protected]

    1. [PAARMSTR-L] WFT 45 - Tree 1374
    2. Mickey Cendrowski
    3. I want to thank EVERYONE for their help in helping me to get the submitter's name and address for World Family Tree CD 45 - Tree 1374. While this is NOT my family, it is DEFINITELY the same family as the booklet that I purchased yesterday at a local flea market. Tomorrow I will be writing a letter to the submitter so that I can tell them of my find, and to make arrangements with them to have this booklet back in the hands of family. Perhaps it may be nothing new to the submitter, but I am sure that with a booklet that is 31 years old someone in the family may be wanting a copy that does not have it. Again, I must THANK the list because so many people responded to my plea for help. For those of you who have really gone the extra mile in helping me, I will post a follow up message to the list once I have connected to the submitter. With the help of the Internet and with all of my genealogy friends out there, it has taken less than 24 hours to match this booklet up to actual living family members. Such a wonderful feeling, giving strangers back a piece of their families history. Wishing everyone success in your own searches! 3. There is also the possibility that the submitter to WFT used the book as the source of the submission. 3. List, Concerning my previous request on the HERNDON and LANGDON booklet that I just purchased, I have now read up to page 45 out of 68 and can connect this booklet's info to the World Family Tree Volume 45 - Tree 1374. Note, I don't own this cd, but found the possible connection through the index search on FamilyTreeMaker.com. If anyone owns this cd, can you get me the submitter's info so that I could contact them? This is very exciting. Thanks. Mickey [email protected] Mickey's Roll Call Mania Web Page http://mickey.pa-roots.com Mickey's Genealogy Web Page http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/3027

    1. [PAARMSTR-L] HERNDON and LANDON
    2. Mickey Cendrowski
    3. List, Yesterday, while at a flea market in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, I came across a booklet entitled "My Grandpa" written by Henrietta R. HERNDON of Springfield, Illinois in 1970. Upon checking this morning on the Social Security Death Index on Ancestry.com, I found the following entry: HENRIETTA HERNDON SSN 350-26-9999 Residence: Born 15 Apr 1899 Last Benefit: Died 9 Nov 1989 Issued: IL (1951) Henrietta's Grandfather was William Owsley LANDON, who was a Doctor of Medicine, a graduate of Missouri Medical College, who's diploma was dated March 10, 1870. There are 68 pages to this soft cover 6 x 9 booklet, with a few, but very nice pictures. I would say that the condition of the booklet to be between very good and excellent. I would like to see this booklet make it's way back to "FAMILY" or at the very least, back to a genealogical society that would welcome this very well written narrative account of William Owsley LANDON ("Willie"). Anyone interested in this booklet, PLEASE contact me directly at [email protected] and not the list. I only ask what I paid for for this booklet, $1.00 plus $3.95 to cover the cost of shipping this booklet. I can only say that I sure wish this booklet would have been on my own family. What a find. I should also add that while I could not find any publisher in this booklet, it was done by a professional source. I have no idea how many copies of this booklet may have been published. While I have no knowledge about this family, I believe that this copy might have found its way to Westmoreland County due to perhaps some family living in the area. I have also placed a copy of this message on the Springfield list, as my intentions are only in getting this book back to those who connect to this family. I have no intentions making anything on this book. I know that there must be sites that I can post this message that might be more appropriate, such as a lost and found treasures, but I do not know of any. If anyone can send me some url's to those type of sites I would be glad to post this message their as well. Please respond directly to me, and not the list.
