The book to which I referred last week was: "Directory of Pennsylvania Photographers 1839-1900" by Linda A. Ries and Jay W. Ruby, copyright Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, , Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, 1999. There is only one R.(Richard) D. Cochran from Harrisburg, 1896-1898. There were no Cochran's listed for Pittsburgh at all. Bella On 01/17/14, pmm<pmmcm@comcast.net> wrote: I am trying to date a photo I have by a Pittsburgh photographer, R.D. Cochran. The back of the cabinet card states, "R. D. Cochran, Artistic Photographer, 150 and 152 Wylie Ave, cor. Elm St. Instantaneous Portraits of Children a successful Specialty. Duplicates can be had at any time." I did find a cabinet card of an African-American soldier during the Civil War that was taken by RD Cochran. Is there a listing anywhere of photographers and when they had their studios?
